Here's a good way to child-proof the house. Take an empty, cleaned-out Windex bottle. Fill it with some kind of blue Kool-Aid or sugary blue juice. Give it to any kid brought to your house and tell him/her to drink it, especially in front of the kid's parents. An ER trip and force-feeding of charcoal later only to find out Junior was in no danger, Moo and Duh will NEVER bring the fucker back again. :D.

Breeders will twist anything around to make something a personal attack on them and their kids. I once made a comment in a music forum about a father complaining about how much he had to pay for Miley Cyrus tickets. He said he spent 2-3000$ on the event and how he was a sucker and parents had to buy these tickers and all this crap. My comments were about instead of spending this obscene amount of money on a fad, take the kids to more intimate and inexpensive or free shows where they could have bonding moments. No big thing, right? A couple acted like I told them to lock their kids in the attic. I was advocating better parenting and still got slammed!

I remember years ago when my friend's brats kids were little. The couple times she brought them here for our parties she seemed put out that I didn't have 'kid friendly' food and drink for them. One time she asked what kind of 'kid friendly' drinks I have and I told her we have pop. She kind of curled her mouth in disgust and moaned and shook her head. I told her that other than alcohol that's all we had (I certainly wasn't going to offer our morning orange juice or Crystal Light drink mix). So she asked for water, which she got. Then she asked what kind of kid friendly snacks I had. I pointed to the table of snacks & hors d'oeuvres and said that was it. Then she wanted some activities for the kids to do. I was like WTF. So I dug out some old broken crayons and overly-scribbled coloring books that I still had stashed away from when my nieces were little.

Then at my surprise 40th birthday party, she had asked DH what kind of kid friendly drink he had for the kids. He told her there was pop. She responded very indignantly with "My children don't drink pop". DH told her "Well I guess there's water then" and gestured to the faucet and turned away and left her to get water from the faucet. (This happened before I got there; DH told me about it).

What did she fucking expect - that we would be stocked up on Juicy-juices and Goldfish crackers? As if. We spend enough money on our parties; I'm not going to spend more on fucking kid crap.

I'm probably in the minority here, but my parents didn't even childproof our own house! The electrical outlets weren't plugged up, the cabinets weren't locked, the liquor was kept out where anyone could get it(the house had a wet bar), and we never had problems.

We also had cable TV with no parental controls on it in the privacy of our bedrooms. My parents also had some books about the occult. Same thing, we had no problems at all. I just don't get why the world needs to be bubblewrapped and censored for kids.
