Yes, Heather. Everyone prefers a dog over a baby. For obvious reasons, too. If a dog isn't used to people his person will say something to passersby who can still admire the pet. And if we pet the dog because that is okay by the dog/person then there is virtually no danger of the dog puking or crying on us. And it is proven that petting dogs/cats has a soothing effect on people.

And for passersby that aren't dog people there is no obligation for them to do anything anyways. A dog person isn't going to write an article with their butt hurt feelings because their pet wasn't universally admired by the general public.

Most dogs will lap up the attention and seem to be happy most of the time.

I actually hate it when people want to pet my girl. Most kids all look the same to me and I couldn't care less.

For some reason she expected the public to give her attention and validation because baybee and has been bitterly disappointed. A dog person isn't going to write an article with their butt hurt feelings because their pet wasn't universally admired by the general public.

Most dogs will lap up the attention and seem to be happy most of the time. Babies are so unpleasant that they often cause medically diagnosed conditions that require strong antidepressants and can still lead to a lifetime of regret for the parents. And clearly the public at large (in this case, Los Angeles) have caught on to how unpleasant babies are. The public is becoming sick to death of parents thinking their babies belong everywhere they do and having to deal with clueless parents who drag their babies to inappropriate places. We don't want to smell shit and hear crying when we are out and about. Some of us get migraines from the level of crying of babies. And we also don't want to deal with entitled parents who bitterly complain that everywhere they go in public is not fitted for babies.

Nope, the public is not going to cater to your need for a routine for a baby, we're not going to silence the ambient noise that is a constant because your baby is sleeping, and we're not going to sit idly by while you allow your baby to scream it's head off. Oh and we're not going to be okay with you putting your baby on a counter at a store or with you changing a baby on a dining room table in a restaurant or cafe. There are lots of places that do not have public bathrooms, so all people have to adapt or plan before going into public. If a baby or young children are involved then parents need to plan accordingly.

I'm not even going to touch the gentle parenting classes and Stanley cups decorating events she tosses in there to sound hip, or the fact that she uses the word "decades" when I have socks in my drawer that are much older than she is.

She all jelly because nobody really cares about looking down at her kid, but they think the dog is gorgeous. That's because people generally love dogs and he probably is a handsome beast. When I walk my dog I get so many compliments on her because she's so pretty and unique (she has a rare mutation that gives her black spots with blue coronas around them like leopard spots). I don't see that happening so often when I see a moo with a stroller.

I note resentment in here as well because she says the dog is "okay looking" (huh?) and she admits she's not a dog lover. To each their own. Too bad she didn't actually like dogs? She could've had one instead and probably would've gotten the attention and validation she so desperately craves.
