The six boys and two girls are all breathing on their own, with three still being provided oxygen.
The mother, whose identity remains a secret, has begun pumping breast milk in anticipation of eight hungry babies.The eight babies were born on Monday, weighing between 1.8 pounds (820 grams) and 3.4 pounds (1.54 kilograms).
Doctors estimated the delivery of the babies lasted five minutes.
The first live-born octuplets were born in Houston in 1998, and one baby died about a week later. The surviving siblings – girls Ebuka, Gorom, Chidi, Chima and Echerem, and their brothers Ikem and Jioke – celebrated their 10th birthday in December.
Their Nigerian-born parents, Nkem Chukwu and Iyke Louis Udobi, said they are astonished and grateful that their children have grown up to be healthy and active kids who are now in the fourth grade.
Mr Chukwu said the new parents have much to look forward to.
"Just enjoy it. It's a blessing, truly a blessing," he said. "We'll keep praying for them."

The babies, which were born in Southern California two days ago, were named A to H in order of their birth.
All eight are now all breathing on their own, although three are still receiving supplemental oxygen.
"They're doing amazingly well," said Socorro Serrano, spokesman for Kaiser Permanente's Bellflower Medical Center, where the babies were born.
The mother, whose identity remains a secret, had not yet been able to hold any of the delicate babies — six boys and two girls — who were born weighing between 1 pound, 8 ounces (0.45 kilograms), and 3 pounds, 4 ounces (1.47 kilograms). However, she was able to see them in their incubators.
The babies' incubators were being kept near one another in the same room for bonding, said Miriam Khoury, clinical director of inpatient obstetrical nursing at the hospital.
Four of the babies were receiving tube-feedings of
donated breast milk, said Ms Khoury.
The stomach of a
fifth baby didn't absorb the milk he was given on Wednesday and now was being fed intravenously, she said. Two of the babies that were receiving milk also were being fed through a vein.The mother has begun pumping breast milk in anticipation of eight hungry babies, said Ms Serrano.
Doctors were surprised by the birth of the eighth baby, because they were only anticipating seven, said Dr. Harold Henry, one of 46 staff members who delivered the babies by cesarean section.
Ms Khoury said the addition of eight babies to the neonatal unit had not stressed the hospital.
"This is history for us, so of course we're happy," she said.
Details about how the octuplets were conceived have not been released, but doctors not involved in the delivery believe the mother was likely on fertility treatment.
The babies are expected to remain in hospital for several weeks and could face serious developmental delays because of their small size.
On Wednesday, the father of the world's first set of octuplets born alive offered the nation's newest eight-sibling family a preview of what they have to look forward to.
"Most of the time, (it's) really, really loud, because eight people are talking, wanting to be heard," Iyke Louis Udobi said as he looked over the two boys and five girls who were born to his wife in 1998 along with an eighth child, who died a week later.
The children's mother, Nkem Chukwu, who breast-fed her infants a decade ago, has her own advice to offer the new mother.
She should "take it easy," Chukwu said. "Pray more. ... Sleep while she can

Moos low enough about how hhaaaarrrrd it is when they do this "tandem nursing" shit, so I fail to see how EIGHT baybees can be simoultaneously fed in this manner. If Grumpy and Dopey aren't done yet, will she just pluck them off her tits and let Bashful and Sleepy latch on while Doc, Sneezy, Dancer and Prancer wriggle in the wings wailing to be fed? 
This whole thing is beyond ridiculous and now she's likely going to be in the living rooms of America just like Kate and Jon and The Duggar clan.
