I agree that a lot of parents play the kid card at school, I have seen it too. However, I think that the prof was an ass in not allowing ANYONE who has a family emergency to retake the test (family including your spouse, parents, sister, etc). For her to go on an on though is annoying. She could have just kept it at anyone with a family emergency should be given some consideration. She is exploiting her children for sympathy.
