Ahhh...I can think of many, many reasons why he would walk away from his brats! smile

About 15 years ago, one of my mother's best friends came home to her 6 and 4 year-old grandchildren alone on her doorstep. They had been left there by her daughter that had the oldest while still a teenager (she married and then divorced their military dad). The daughter didn't return for weeks, came back and then left again for months. The grandparents fought for custody and eventually adopted both children.

The daughter turns around and pumps out three more children by two different guys (no marriage). She's raising those three, but has had several encounters with CPS. I will acknowledge that the mother did manage to graduate from a 4 year college, but I keep hearing about her being on different forms of welfare anyway.
