There's a new documentary about this thing, so people are talking again about it. But still None of the parunts take their part of the blame.
The government even offered them $1,000,000 Mexican Pesos a compensation (roughly $90,000 USD) and they didn't accept that and continued to protest.
So the short version of this is: muh and duh breed more children than they can afford. Both need to work in order to feed them. They drop their sprogs in the first place they find without checking how safe and it has everything prepare in case of an emergency. And when the inevitable happens, suddenly the government is the only guilty of the tragedy.
