I hope my colleagues will read it and understand that it’s not about mums wanting the best shifts or choosing to be difficult.

Be nice to the future cancer curers you're raising and once they've made their millions perhaps they will pay off your house and fund your retirement.

She's trading a set schedule for less pay. This is standard practice in nursing.

OMG this is great ^^^^. I never try to actively lift anyone's quotes, but there's little chance I won't say this or something similar to a self righteous relative with kids in the next few years.

Why should Moos be immune to the laws of economic reality?
She wrote:
"I made the decision to switch to practice nursing and I love working at a local medical centre. I had to take a 25 percent pay cut, I’m working casually, some weeks all my pay goes to childcare and it’s a shame that my years of intensive care experience aren’t being utilised, but that’s the price I pay to ensure my kids are looked after while I’m at work. And it would seem that I’m a minority, others in my situation are leaving the profession altogether or putting up with the inflexibility, but at what cost?"
I don't know why she thinks she's so special. (Rhetorical statement--she thinks she's so special because she shat out brats.)

I give teachers a pass. They get to complain about their shitty income when more and more responsibilities have been added to their plate in the past 30 years. Teachers now have to be not just educators, but parents, etiquette trainers, tard wranglers, advocates, and negotiators to deal with the bureaucratic bullshit the school board and administrators like to dump out. They have to buy all their classroom needs out of pocket and they can’t get the shit-for-brains breeders to help out because breeders just complain about why should they have to contribute to their child’s education or plead poverty. And then when the little idiots in the classrooms fail or fuck up, 100% of the blame goes onto the teachers. A $25000/year salary no longer cuts it, hence why they’ve been going on strike and there’s been a revolving door of teachers now. It’s no longer an era where somebody teaches for 20-30 years and retires.
