So many words have lost their meaning because they've been applied to every insignificant thing children do. Kids are "traumatized" from hearing the word no or being spanked. They "graduate" from preschool. Everyone "wins."

Graduation used to be something that you did generally once in your life, sometimes twice - from high school and from college. It was a major achievement that took effort. You don't fucking graduate kindergarten - you PASS kindergarten. Even that shouldn't warrant celebration because it's expected. At this rate, I'll soon be able to say I graduated from the bathroom because I successfully took a shit.

Oh but I'm sure this delightful famblee will be pawing this person for free tax services every April because they have an accounting degree. And free babysitting too, I'm sure, since she "has nothing better to do" because she's not a mommy.

If it were me, and my family didn't show up to my actual graduation, because of my nieces doing something as utterly trivial as a kindergarten "graduation", I'd cut them all off. No goodbye, no questions, nothing.
