Has anyone noticed that biblical names like Elijah, Isaiah and Caleb are becoming really popular?
Re: Kre8ive Names

I went to high school with a poor guy whose name was Ezekiel (sp) Zebediah. His last name was just as fucked up. I still feel sorry for him. Looking back on that I feel bad for laughing at it.

I work in a hospital, and I see all kinds of names.

There was a fifteen year old girl (who was in the hospital to have a baby -- that's another story) whose first name was "Ikea."

Link to the article for this one. I think it takes the cake for kre8ive. Hashtag. Will the other kids call her, yes, a girl, Hash when she gets older???

This name alone makes me cry for our future.

Yesterday I saw twin sisters on a talk show. Their names were Princess and Precious.

There's also a teenage actress who stars on a Nickoledeon TV show whose first name is Cymphonique.
Re: Kre8ive Names

Okay.. now Cymphonique reminds me of the checker at the grocery store I go to. The name is so long that it extends past her nametag. Ready for this? (I've had to look at it on 2 or 3 visits to get it right)

'Tamshyniqua' Okay.. mull that one over for a minute. LOL

what did they DO for the name tag? stick some tape on the end with the rest of the letters? waving hellolarious

You got it. 'Tamshyni' was on the tag and then there was white tape on the end with 'qua' written in black marker.

You'd think she would have looked at the amount of space and opted to have 'Tamsin' written on it.

More baby names from my local paper:

-Maddex (he has a brother named Landen)

-Zaden

-twins named Kaylea and Rylee (despite the girly spelling, Rylee is a boy). They also don't have middle names which for some reason I can't wrap my mind around.

-Ty'Leah (with a grandmother named MaKisha)

-Ashlyn (with a sister named Karyssa)

There's also a baby with a normal but trendy name (Madison) who has a sister named Kenadie.

Wow. At this rate, it's only a matter of time before someone names their kid R'lyeh...

how about odd NICKnames?

I heard someone call their (toadler, presumably) "Baby-Butt".

"Baby-Butt".

:eyebrows

My parents called me "basketball butt." Then again, it was because I was born with a supposed hip-click (whatever the hell that is), and the dr's told my folks to triple diaper me to keep my legs apart so they'd stay in the sockets. I think it was their form of whistling in the dark about my supposed defect. I say supposed, because when examined by another dr, he told my parents my legs were normal and he didn't know what the hell the hospital doc was thinking - AND to get the extra diapers the fuck off me, or there WOULD be a joint disorder. Caused by the cure for a defect I didn't have in the first place.

It's your hell; you rot in it!

I also call my parents' dog "Fluff Butt," "Fuzz Butt," or other variations on the theme, because he does, indeed, have a fluffy butt. Bichons are so cute!!!
