Church excommunicates mother and doctors – but not accused rapist

Essentially they have excommunicated the victim too because she is too young to take herself to mass, confession, or to other church related activities. Perhaps they'll suggest the rapist perv step father can bring her when he attends.

So the Church couldn't excommunicate all three? The rapist's crime was not heinous enough? Not that I agree that the mother and doctor should have been excommunicated, but still. It's not like there's a limit on the number of excommunications the Church can declare in a set period. "Oh, well darn, I've used up all my excoms for the week. Looks like that heathen'll have to wait another week for the Holy B&." I think the Church is rather fucked up, and that their priorities are all fucked too.

The Church has got batshit crazy about sex. Which is a rather new development in its history (no, really, it is).

The pope before this one looked like a walking corpse for months before he finally died. I saw one news report where it showed him sitting on his throne in the background and he looked like the old dead man propped up for the picture of the "oldest living man" on that movie, "The Great Outdoors". Since he was the guest of honor and the local paper was already there, the town didn't want to lose a photo op just because he had croaked only moments before.

As for the stepfather - I only wish there was a God. I'd be happy to know that this sick fucker would be getting his.
