I saw one news report where it showed him sitting on his throne in the background and he looked like the old dead man propped up for the picture of the "oldest living man" on that movie, "The Great Outdoors". Since he was the guest of honor and the local paper was already there, the town didn't want to lose a photo op just because he had croaked only moments before.
