From NY Times opinion page. Finally, they're getting it right!

While the comments are generally OK, there are a few fools who still seem to think that the sole function of women is to breed.

There is no better evidence of how fucked up this world is than the fact that pointing out to people that you should put careful thought into the decision to breed is generally met with hostility and indignation.

Because damn near half of all babies born nowadays are completely unplanned. To outright say that's a stupid fucking thing to do and that the decision to have a child should be a well-thought out one instead of impulsive effectively insults the breeders. Only the guilty react with hostility and indignation.

This comment is similar to my thoughts on breeding:

"Anyone who chooses to have a child at this point in human history is consigning that child to a world of terror and suffering as they will witness the unravelling of the age of petroleum in the most astounding ways imaginable. Every aspect of life as we currently (and wildly unsustainingly) live - every product, service, foodstuff, etc, basically ad infinitum - will be impacted. Negatively. It's basically sending 7 billion souls off a cliff. It's no wonder the 1% are hoarding their resources.

"I for one don't have the stomach to inflict that on a child, nor the heart for it."

K-Man back. The resources issue has been of concern to me for years as I have watched the burgeoning world population—and as we see around us and discuss here autards and "special snowflakes" and the like, an increasing proportion of that population appears to be useless, worthless, and often dangerous to those who are productive or have potential.

Truth, I would like to see eugenics, mandatory institutionalization of retards, and eventual human extinction. Think of what the buffalo, elephants, rhinoceri and other endangered or formerly endangered species, and the animal and plant worlds, the Earth in general, would think of humans if they could.

The author of 'Collapse' state that the Rwandan massacre may well have been Malthusian in scope. Which accounted for, by the end of the tragedy, they were offing members of their own tribe. This accounted for the seemingly quizical treatment of it by the media.

On the other hand, I really do not want to see people go extinct. There is a lot lovely out there that we accomplish, we do, create. It would grieve me terribly to see it pass.

two cents ¢¢

CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children
and I defy anyone to prove me wrong:

The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

If I want to hear the pitter-patter of little feet I'll put shoes on my pets.

Mankind and its needs (wants) are like unto a black hole. It devours all available resources and it never is full: it merely grows larger and demands more.

Definition of 'wealthy': Anyone who makes more/has more than you do.

Someone pointed out that I'm a realist. And all along I thought I was just a pessimist crossed with a cynic.

Entitlement, thy name is mooooooooooooooo

"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove
they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen.
Add to this that, many of those who refuse or are unable to prove they are
citizens, will receive free insurance paid for by those who are.""

Politicians are like diapers: both need changing regularly.

This is how I feel too. Why bring aboard more victims on a sinking Titanic?
