Seems these idiots kept enough fireworks stored in their house to destroy their deck and part of the house itself. 9 injured including 2 children that had to be flown to the hospital. Oh and the "adult son" is a firefighter. Let the games and darwinism begin. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/north/12007906189822/fireworks-explode-inside-nh-home-several-injured/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I walk the path of life to my own rhythm, my own beat-if you don't like it, step off and find your own damn song!

These types of idiotic stories will flood the news between now and Labor Day Weekend. Yep. I am in living in the land of stupid people and every year we get stories about some dumb ass who is shooting off fireworks in their garage and start a house fire. Sometimes they even start fires in other people's houses. My neighborhood POA sent a letter to everyone warning them about the dangers of fireworks and reiterating that is against the rules to shoot off fireworks in the development. Yet every year some idiot sets fire to something in my neighborhood because they think they are above the rules (it doesn't really help that the POA does nothing to stop this and if you call the police, they just respond with "but it's the fourth of July").

Just the first in many cases of L'il Sparklerz that will happen over the course of the summer. Given how bone stupid the kids are where I live I totally expect to hear of at least one on purpose 'accident' today - from either fireworks at home or some dumbshit kids running into the display that's going to be on the waterfront.

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/06/28/police-fireworks-accident-burns-woman/ This one happened several days ago and although no children were injured or blown up, I am certain those reports will be coming in soon across the Southern United States as the hillbillies and rednecks start dragging out the munitions and allowing their kids to play with sparklers, bottle rockets, and Roman candles. This one here leaned over the firework she had just lit and it damned near blew her face off. She's got 2nd and 3rd degree burns over her face and upper body and is in critical condition. Authorities say alcohol was involved. ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much? We did get a bit of rain yesterday but it's long burned off as the temp here at 5 p.m. just hit 100 degrees. Our easement grass is actually crispy and brown. It's been so hot for so long that I'm sure there will be some fire incidents, aside from all the folks that shoot off, and have been for 3 weeks, projectile fireworks in our crowded residential neighborhood. The street one over puts on an actual regular 10 p.m. show each year, presumably with some sort of permit. Upside is we watch it from the porch with beverages. .......................................................................................................................................................... 19 year guy old in Louisiana blows off his left hand and suffers other serious injuries after playing with a "cluster" of sparklers he had duct taped together. http://www.nola.com/traffic/index.ssf/2012/07/fireworks_accident_severely_in.html "A 19-year-old Kenner man had his left hand "blown apart," along with "massive injuries" to his other hand, his arms and his legs, when he tried to tinker with a sparkler bomb Tuesday just before midnight, Kenner police said. Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway identified the man as Daniel Duzac and said he is believed to have lost his entire left hand, some fingers on his right hand and suffered burns and lacerations on his torso. Caraway put out a news release on the incident Wednesday afternoon and warned residents that it's illegal to use, or even have, pyrotechnics inside the city of Kenner. He said Duzac was in the 2700 block of Sharon Street, near the apartment where he lives, shooting off fireworks with some friends when he tried to remove the fuse from a duct-taped cluster of 144 sparklers. He was too late. The device exploded in his hands, burning portions of his body and blowing his left hand apart. The explosion was so powerful that it also damaged the windshields of three nearby vehicles, the police news release said. WHY was he trying to remove ANYTHING from a lit firework of any type? "Fireworks in Jefferson Parish are legal to sell in some places and not others, they're legal to use them in some places and not others," Caraway said. "In Kenner they're illegal to shoot, so we recommend people refrain from shooting fireworks because it is illegal." So is pot, bootleg whiskey, and selling moonshine, but they do that anyway too. ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much? Fireworks again! The 4th is OVER, assholes!
Not in my area it isn't! Hillbillies have been setting off fireworks since the night of the 3rd and continue to, as I type this. They have been sporadically blowing shit up on this mountain ALL FUCKING DAY and night and likely will continue to all weekend or until they run out. The sale of and detonation of fireworks by individuals is illegal in my town, but that doesn't apply to the rural areas in the county and outside the city limits, which is where I live. SOMEbody blows off a hand or starts a house fire every fucking year before it's all over, so I don't expect this year to be any different. ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much? http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region/wayne_county/man-loses-parts-of-fingers-when-firework-exploded-with-his-hand-inches-away TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - "As soon as I had lit it... Boom!", says Ryan Whitson who lost parts of his fingers when fireworks exploded with his left hand just inches away. It happened Wednesday night when the Whitsons joined other families in their Taylor neighbor to set off fireworks in the middle of the street in celebration of Independence Day. This was the first year that Michigan consumers could buy fireworks that are more powerful than mere sparklers and simple items. Several communities fought against the change made by Michigan's legislature. Oh, and you can bet your ass the politicians against it will hone in on this too Twenty-four shells came in the Whitsons' box of fireworks labeled "Kiss of Death." Ryan Whitson says he followed the directions and had no problem lighting the first 20 shells. Number 21 exploded almost as soon as the wick was lit. "I told my wife I think I just blew my hand off", says Whitson. Christina Whitson cried as she told 7 Action News, "I brought him in. Put him in the sink and went outside and yelled for help. That's all I could do". "...put him in the sink?'" No that's quite an accomplishment! Ryan was rushed to Oakwood Hospital where he says doctors did what they could. He ended up losing the top half of each of his five fingers on his left hand. Ryan says doctors have told him that he will likely need multiple surgeries, but he's thankful he didn't lose an eye. Ryan added, I thank God above there was no child around me". Oh Yes, THANK GOD NO CHILDREN WERE HURT! He's lost half his fucking hand and still has the wherewithal to spew forth what has become a bingo. He's also thankful he didn't lose an eye. Could this man be any more,"glass half full"? The Whitsons say they are done setting off their own fireworks. "Never ever again", says Christina Whitson. It's a bit late for that resolution, I am afraid. I looked on the "Kiss of Death" website and it's described as a mortar shell filled explosive, yet in one article about this the man said he thought they were "safe" because they were legal to buy. Um, gasoline is legal too as is pre soaked charcoal, among OTHER flammable and explosive liquids and products, but that's beside the point! ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much? Yanno, fireworks are another one of those perks for CFs. Dh and I stepped out onto the porch because we began to hear loud explosions, setting the dogs off. We had nearly forgotten what the day was about. Our idiot neighbors were setting off apocalyptic detonations, but one family did at least intersperse the bottle rockets with showering cones. Those I thought were pretty and could be safe in the right hands. Without kids to wrangle and keep out of the way (unlike this family) Dh and I have decided to at least have a few festive sparklers next year. It's been years and years since we did anything like that. And I have the sense to make sure the yard has been wet down before lighting anything. I noticed my neighbors running around their yard a couple of times and stamping out small flames

I call BS they won't set off their own fireworks again. You can't stop stupid from doing stupid things. They sound like the type to 'school' their friends on properly handling a Roman candle. You know, since he earned the badge of nearly losing his hand. ' No, lookie here, you're doing it wrong!' and boom! Ryan has lost his other hand. I knew when they passed the new lenient fireworks law, some dumbass was bound to screw it up. I guess it's a Michigan thing, but they always pop off fireworks here long before the 4th of July. They shoot 'em all day and all night. Some of my neighbors shot off fireworks in the street. They didn't have the common decency to shoot them off in the park nearby. Luckily none of the houses or trees caught fire. No one got injured, although I did hear sirens.

http://www.ksla.com/story/18969247/funeral-set-for-arkansas-teen-killed-in-fireworks-mishap Jeeeeez, a 17 y/o Arkansas teen KILLED, Darwinized, when he put THREE HUNDRED sparklers in a bucket and then lit them. Funeral arrangements have been set for a Buckner, Arkansas teen who died after he and a friend made a sparkler bomb. The funeral for Justin Smith, 17, will be Saturday at the Lafayette County High School gymnasium in Stamps, Arkansas. A visitation was held Friday night at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps. To each his own, but I think it's weird they held a funeral in the school gym when there's a perfectly good funeral home in town Authorities say Smith and a friend of his put a bucket over the homemade explosive, lit it, and couldn't get away fast enough before it exploded.Smith's friend survived the explosion, but was treated for injuries at Magnolia Hospital. GOD that's stupid as hell!Investigators say the sparkler bomb that killed Smith had about 300 sparklers in it. The sparkler box has a warning label that says not to hold or light more than one sparkler at a time. Of COURSE it says that on the box, but it should be common sense not to ignite THREE HUNDRED at one time! ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much? I hate fireworks. They disturb nocturnal wildlife, fill the air with smoke, leave rubbish behind, scare domestic animals, and keep me from getting a good night's sleep. At least here they are only set off around New Year's, so fires are not a major risk. I don't understand why people are so desperate to spend lots of money and risk injury in order to make little fires. I especially don't understand the ones that are just designed to make loud noises, and have no visual effects, but I am generally confused about why some people seem incapable of allowing silence to exist. A professional show is better in every way: not only is there less garbage, smoke, and stress on animals and people (due to it being limited in location and time), it is also more cost effective, safer, and much more beautiful.

The Chinese manufacturing cabal can't even produce safe dog food. Do people really think that a cheap firework would have any safeguards or quality control testing beyond "explodes when a match comes near it"? Actually, the Chinese are shooting themselves in the foot by killing off the consumer segment most likely to shop at Walmart. -------------------- also I am not looking for a women with kids or diseases herpes or any other sexual deceases

There was some group of assholes setting off fireworks near me last night. I have no idea what kind they were, but they were loud enough to set off my car alarm, feak the cat out and cause my usually mild mannered husband to call the cops. For fucks sake, the 4th was three days ago.

There are American manufacturers, however their largest customers are Australian and Japan. ETA: waitaminit. those are the large bombs. Black Cat offers American made, but you have to look for that specific category on their site. Diamond Sparklers are made in the USA. Folks want to talk about saluting patriotism with Chinese made products (for all that fireworks suffer quality control, they were invented there)? Flags. Of the 3.2 million spent on importing flags, 2.5 million was spent in China. Thankfully, you can order American made flags online (we get ours from Valley Forge Kinda neat that you can even get them in an antique style). There have been several bills introduced to mandate that flags flown over Federal and state buildings be made in American, but they've been limping along.

Before anyone could purchase fireworks we could require a safety class and a license, additional inspections before they are packaged and sold, warnings on each package in larger print, and an instructional video to accompany each purchase. However, if some hillbilly uses duct tape to bind several hundred together thereby creating what amounts to a small bomb, we'll still end up with mangled hands and dead teenagers. ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much?
