Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan says that he personally believes that rape is just another “method of conception” and not an excuse to allow abortions. During an interview with WJHL this week, Ryan was asked his view about Rep. Todd Akin, who recently asserted that women could not get pregnant from “legitimate rape.” “Specifically where you stand when it comes to rape, and when it comes to the issue of should it be legal for a woman to be able to get an abortion if she’s raped?” WJHL reporter Josh Smith wondered. “I’m very proud of my pro-life record, and I’ve always adopted the idea that, the position that the method of conception doesn’t change the definition of life,” Ryan explained. “But let’s remember, I’m joining the Romney-Ryan ticket. And the president makes policy.” LinkThey just don't STOP. They are TRULY the gift that keeps on giving.

How To Gid Yourself Down Even Further... _______________________ “I was talking about children that have not been properly house-trained. Left to their own impulses and indulged by doting or careless parents almost all children are yahoos. Loud, selfish, cruel, unaffectionate, jealous, perpetually striving for attention, empty-headed, for ever prating or if words fail them simply bawling, their voices grown huge from daily practice: the very worst company in the world. But what I dislike even more than the natural child is the affected child, the hulking oaf of seven or eight that skips heavily about with her hands dangling in front of her -- a little squirrel or bunny-rabbit -- and prattling away in a baby's voice.” ― Patrick O'Brian, The Truelove lib'-er-ty: the freedom given to you to make the wrong decision, based on the reasoned belief that you will normally make the right one.

In effect, he is putting the fetus first. Somewhere in Hell, Nellie Gray is dancing a jig. Quote toomanybrats “But let’s remember, I’m joining the Romney-Ryan ticket. And the president makes policy.” Welllll, according to the Constitution the President "shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.." You know, the old 'Balance of Power' thing? I feel the Bush years getting ready to creep up on us again. Anyone notice Ryan hanging out with Rove or Cheney, lately?

Is it just me, or are they trying to lose? This is as bad a move as John McCain choosing Sarah Palin as his VP.

Why have we suddenly reverted to the Dark Ages again? This is the 21st century and we have people who actually think they can say shit like this in public when they're trying to get elected, and not be laughed to death? This Ryan guy is a fucking misogynist egomaniac. I'd like to know who it is that thinks he's so handsome - that nose and those huge ears - he's as homely as they come. Can you imagine was an ugly-ass kid he was? I'm hoping to see statistics after the election that show a huge percent of women (preferably well over 60-70%) voting against Republicans. That ought to scare those fuckers into re-thinking their anti-woman agenda.

I heard a statement that the reason for the platform, which is not concurrent with Romney's stance, was more to preserve the "sanctity of the states". Although you guys will blast the crap out of me, I am still voting against Obama. I find the dire state of the nation overall requires it. We are on the verge of bankruptcy and we have a clear and present danger in the Middle East and this President is more interested in tax returns and investments of his opponent and playing golf. Romney is focused on resolving these issues and I view it as in order to deal with the abortion issue of America, we first must make sure we have an America.

Women are just sperm recepticles and it doesn't matter how they're inseminated, as long as they are and they are kept with child. Because that's the Lawd's plan for wimmun! I never thought anyone would make me pull the lever for Obama, who is forcing us to spend $3,000 a month on health insurance, but these fuckers just did!

This is actually more serious than the Akin quote, yet I've heard nothing about it on the news. NO abortions for rape victims. And if that's his standard, then certainly no abortions for women who are not the victims of rape. ETA: Posted this quote and link on the FB page of our local radio station (thanks to toomanybrats!). I HOPE people publicize this. .......................................................................................................................................................... None. Because women only exist to create more tithe payers and tax payers, and that is their only God-given fuction, according to Ryan and Akin and their ilk.

Shiny said, "How much of your hard earned paycheck are you willing to wager that dicks like this would shun people who are the products of rape for being illegitimate bastards?" 100%. You're dead right. What the fuck is going on? Are the Republicans really deliberately trying to lose? Actually, I think they are, and I think both sides are trying to throw the election. Look at all the crap from the Obama/Biden camp. For some reason neither side really wants to be in office after Election Day, probably because they both think something very bad is going to happen within the next couple of years. We need to find out just what the hell it is. Footnote: A local radio station reran one of Rush Limbaugh's shows from last week during the weekend. In that particular show, at least two people called to say that Todd Akin had to have been paid off to have made the asinine statement about legitimate rape not causing pregnancy. One in particular said that none of the fundies and Catholics he knew believed the nonsense about women being unable to conceive after rape, so he was suspicious of Akin's spouting off during a highly contested political campaign.

Actually, Romney supports abortion in cases of rape. Therefore, Akin's comments do not reflect those of Romney and Ryan, despite being anti-abortion in all instances due to his Catholic beliefs, has conceded that it is the Presidential nominee who dictates things. Romney's candidacy is to focus on economic issues and stay away from social and religious issues such as abortion and gay marriage, which I think is a smart move. Not all conservatives are anti-abortion or anti-gay marriage.

If they wanted to stay out of the "social and religious issues", they are doing one hell of a bad job o.o Also: "staying away from "X" issue during a campaign" is, traslated from political speaking into plain english: "I'll skirt on very important but touchy issues, since I am aware that the majority of the population would want me burned at a stake if I dared to voice them, but I'll try my damn best to force my views on the unsuspecting electorate as soon as I have put my tushie on that chair" This work for ANY politician, mind you. Most social issues should fall on the states and the people, NOT on the federal government. Why should I want a federal level politician dictating whether abortion is legal in my state if he does not live here or know our problems? I think Romney himself is following more of a Chris Christie approach of sticking to the main issues: the economy and jobs creation. No matter what Romney or Ryan believe anyway, as the biggest problems facing the nation are the encroaching role of government in our lives and the fact both the people and the states are willing to trade freedom for convenience. Why pay for education and all when you can let the government do it for you? Why work when the government will take it from someone else?
