....United announced that they are going to stop allowing parents with small children to board early. Now parents will have to board with their section, even as they clutch car seats, strollers, diaper bags, and the dozen other large-scale items that make traveling with babies such a nightmare.

Parents of young children and babies know how much we are hated on planes. And it isn't just planes, either. We are hated in restaurants, on subways, on buses, and on city sidewalks.

If parents are aware of this, then why don't they try to be more considerate of others?! They would not be hated if their children were quiet and well-behaved. Don't they remember When They Were a Child Once(tm), that things were not always this way? Don't they realize what has changed to make it so? It's not us, it's THEM.

I fail to understand how United is treating children badly with this new policy.
Now if they had said that all children will be required to be in cages and flown in the cargo hold, then she may have had a point (although I would wholeheartedly agree with this in the unlikely even it ever happened), but by not allowing moos extra time to get all their shit on board, well, that is hardly treating children badly. Dramatic much?
If United decides to get rid of its' "kids fly free" bullshit, they will have my business for life.

I'd like it for kids to be on mandatory Benadriland it's like. That will help their little ears and will put them to sleep. Wonders for other passengers.

I've been lurking around your boards for a few weeks now. Observed some interesting posts. Being the keeper of a 17 month old probably makes me the 'enemy' but I just couldn't let this one go. Is the author of that article serious???? Really??? I was waiting for the part where she said boarding with young children first makes it easier for the other passengers. Less waiting in a cramped aisle line. No chance of knocking someone with a stroller or bag. No sticky hands touching someone else..... That's how I would see it. Getting a baby n accessories to and from can be a fine art. And I HATE when I feel like I'm holding anyone up while I struggle with a squirming toddler n her billion bags, toys and associated junk. But this daft cow thinks it should be about her????? Smh.....and now I'm going to wonder how many people see me and mine like this because of some entitled moocow

is up with being a child's 'keeper'? Is it a pet? A handbag? Since when does someone 'keep' a chyld? You are supposed to PARENT your child...not treat it like an object. Parents Deserve Special Treatment on Airlines (& Other Places, Too!) August 30, 2012 | Registered: 1 year ago |

Mum, totally missed the no posting rule. I have no idea how I stumbled across your boards in the first place. Wandered into 'babystalk' at some point in googling and kinda lurked around. Vast majority of the view points here I completely agree with. But I didn't see the no posting rule since I never left the Living Room. Sorry about that. I'll just read and be quiet from here on out.
