I remember a poll that came out in the 1990's in my state of residence, Alabama at the time, where over 60% of high school kids couldn't accurately name the capitol city of their state, even those who lived IN the capitol city nor could they name the governor of their own state. The majority also didn't know why Americans celebrated July 4th, Labor Day, or Memorial Day either, couldn't recite The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, how many stars and stripes were on it and why, could recite or even name The National Anthem, and didn't know who won The Civil War, the reasons it was fought, or when it ended. Even fewer could name the Vice President of The United States, knew what continent we were on, how many continents there were, or what oceans bordered which states. They didn't know how many states we had or all their names, let alone most of the capitol cities of most of them.

They have nearly NO knowledge of The Constitution and even less about any amendments or what they mean or how they came about, among many other things that are taught as early as the 4th grade. So, that they don't know Obama's last name is NO SURPRISE to me, much like they probably don't know who is buried in Grant's tomb.

It amazes me that these morons are on the internet broadcasting to the entire world how damn stupid they are. Have they no sense of shame? If they know how to surf the web can't they do some Google searches and educate themselves? Duh...and fail. Big time fail. I admit I do not get Twitter. I have an account, but it is only so I can follow Sims 3 tweets. I don't understand why people think that they have to post to the world every time they take a shit.

As for these kids, how fucking ignorant can you be? I can sort of understand not being really familiar with presidents who served before they were born, but the CURRENT prez, really?! Also, Google is really easy to use and can save you much public shame.
