Dog in car, concerned moos

Dog in car, concerned moos
September 10, 2012
I went grocery shopping today. I take my dog everywhere with me, as he does not like to be left home alone. I carry two sets of keys, and leave the car running with AC. Dog dislikes strangers walking by the car and barks. These two moos called the cops on me. I told them about the AC, they lectured me about little sizzlers dying in hot cars. I told them I did not forget the dog and ensured his well-being. Which is far more caring than leaving a loaf to bake. Nosy twats.hammer headBull

I think moos "showing concern" is really just a way for them to stir up trouble. I have often taken Athena with me when I walk somewhere. I was only in a store long enough to grab something small and some moo decided to try and take my dog. I was inside for exactly ten minutes and her leash was tied to a phone booth. The security guard was watching her and when I came back some moo gets in my face and tells me I'm negligent. She's watched by someone and I was only gone ten minutes. I told her that if I wanted her opinion I'd give it to her. That was the last time I walked my dog to the store with me and it was ten years ago.

That's not going to stop me from having my dog along. I am pissed they wasted my time and the police officer's time as well. Cant they mind their own business?

I'm sorry to say they can't. They wouldn't have any fun if they did. What did the police say?

I don't get it, you left the AC on so it not a safety issue....what law did you break? NONE.

Also, I leave the emergency brake on also, so they car doesn't accidentially move.

The police told you that to apease the moos. Now they think they got their way.
Forget about it.
I will take my dogs with me a lot in the fall, winter and early spring, but in summer they mostly stay home. I tried the two key deal but my car won't run with me out and the door locked. (some kind of new fangled safety stuff) I could do it with my old car though. I took both dogs someplace once and left the AC on and I was gone about 10 minutes. THREE people were standing there trying to figure out why the dogs weren't cooking in there. Idiots.

What a bunch of nosy cunts, who likely have left their own kids in their cars. WHERE is the Locked in Hot Car Syndrome™ police when children are dying,I wonder?Head-Brick

If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much?
I don't hate your kids, I HATE YOU!

People couldn't figure out why the dogs weren't roasting in there?
Did they not HEAR the car running and use their brain to figure out that you had the AC on?
Jesus H Christ people are fucking morons...

Sorry but I'm with the breeders on this one. The car wouldn't have been running, just the electricity would have been on so there'd be nothing to hear. You can't see air conditioning and they don't know the dogs aren't roasting. It takes a very short amount of time for a dog to become distressed in a hot car and I would absolutely err on the side of caution and call the police. It's not about minding your own business, it's about worrying over the animals' safety.

I'd have done the same thing.

I think they were well meaning on this. The AC is not infallible. My dad told me once about a guy who left his two children in the car with the AC on while he ran into work to get something on a day off. He wound up being held up by his boss on some matter for over an hour. In the meantime, the AC stopped working and the children died. He had taken precautions,

If I walk past a car and I can see for myself the dog is not in distress I leave it alone. If doggy is jumping around and barking then he's most likely not in serious danger. If doggy looks like he's barely breathing I will tap on a window. If doggy is breathing but doesn't respond I will call police. I might tell them it's a child in danger because they respond faster if they think it's a meat sack. I did say might on that last one. Thankfully I've never seen that happen.

@barren4ever, I don't feel you did anything wrong. The dog was perfectly fine. I do feel the two moos were just being cunts. I do recommend leaving a bowl of water on the floor of the car for him.

Barren4ever said that she left the car running. In that case, anyone would be able to ear the engine going.
