Yes, the site DOES accept Paypal. In fact, ALL payments are processed by PayPal and include whatever all methods of payment PayPal accepts. I still haven't heard back from the welfare office to see WHY they won't make my site "WIC Approved!". It just doesn't seem fair!!!! :bawl

Eventually I'd like to have a hard cover printed version, but that's too costly a venture for a first time self publisher. Oh, sorry to all of you whose WIC-Welfare card isn't currently accepted as a means to make a purchase on my site. I am working with fast food places, casinos, convenience stores, and other establishments that accept them to see how they were able to get WIC-Welfare to scan at their places of businesses! It just isn't right you shouldn't be able to use a Welfare EBT card to buy necessities like my book!

It won't cost you a cent if you use the free services on Lulu.com or Blurb.

The bottom line is that it shouldn't cost you one cent (unless you order your own copy), you can build in your own profit margin, and still make it affordable for all of us.

I don't know if your book is illustrated or not.

If it isn't, Lulu is your best choice. All you have to do is covert your document to a PDF (you may need to reformat it to fit the paper sizes), upload it, design your cover, then go get a beer. You're done! I just sent my thesis to them. Very easy to publish a text-only book. 6x9 paperback and hardback (with dust jacket) are the most popular choices.

If it is illustrated, then Blurb is your best choice. Their downloadable wizard makes setting up the pages and dragging the pictures into it a snap. They offer about 70 different formats and themes to make it even easier. I'm using it to design an illustrated dossier of my novel series' characters. Blurb also offers the higher grade paper that keeps illustrations from bleeding through. Lulu does not (unless you design it as a picture book and that gets expensive).

Both are free, unless you purchase the fancy marketing packages (which I do NOT recommend). You already have a network here and we'll all be spreading your book word-of-mouth.

Oh, and the quality of both is pretty amazing. I don't know about Blurb yet, but Lulu's books look like they belong in a Barnes and Noble. So far, none of the bindings have ruptured, none of the pages have fallen out, and the ink doesn't bleed through the paper. I would suspect that Blurb's quality is equal.

I'd like to share my first two book reviews with all of you! I was surprised I have any reviews at all yet, but I have one on Amazon and the other was posted on kidleskim.com I made MY "review" of the reviews after each in my usual style:

I also hate these "crunchy" moms and their lax parenting and how they are always quick to judge other moms like that attached parent "technique" she talks about. It's just funny all around and made me laugh, but I DID get a little offended on that locked in hot car chapter because sometimes it really IS an accident. I get what she means though because lots of people just do not watch their kids AT ALL. Funny stuff though and worth the read."

Not only am I "ill informed" about no doubt the WIC-Welfare chapters among others, but I am a "mental patient" too? I suppose angry cows have to attack our mental states and lack of being informed about their oh so HAAAaaaaaarrrrrrD lives if we say anything at all in opposition to their mooing and lowing. Having read my book couldn't have been anywhere NEAR as "tiring" as the day in the life of an average cow which is spent on wiping up vomit, changing shitty diapers, and cleaning shit smeared bedroom walls. This cow gave me one star.

Stupid question, but I have a Nook (no Kindle). How on earth would I go about purchasing and obtaining this gloriousness? I'd like to have it on my Nook, if I could (iBooks is annoying).

lorelei, I downloaded Kim's book to my pc then copied the file to my Nook to the "My Files" section. Your Nook should be able to read Adobe files that you download to it. wink
