Cougars and boy toys.
February 01, 2013
I've been home with coxsackie virus all week, and it's given me ample time to catch up with my dysfunctional friends and their crazy ass family drama.

One of my friends is a 25 year old vet student. Her Mom is 60. Last year, the father died suddenly. 6 months after his death, Mom was trolling the Interwebz looking for a new, younger man.

This has been a bone of contention for my friend, and endless hours of entertainment for me.

Last Thanksgiving, my friend brought home the guy that she was seeing at the time. He was very hot, a vet student like she was, and he was from Germany. They broke up, and the guy graduated from vet school.

Her Mom started an email friendship with the kids mother.

She had a small break between semesters and was home recently. While she was home, she noticed that her Mom had stepped up her repertoire of smutty books and movies (yes, it's gross that my friend knows this - but her Mom is one of those "open" types). She checked the history on the home laptop and found that her Mom has been cyber-stalking her German ex-boyfriend, including looking at his Facebook EVERYDAY. When she confronted her Mom about it, her Mom admitted to texting him also after getting the number out of her daughter's phone. WTF!

So, now when my friend is home from school, she is staying with me. lol She's completely cut her mother off. I don't blame her. I wouldn't want to hear the exploits of my cougar Mom, along with having to hear about her catalog of porn and sex toys. brain bleach

Gross. You know, I say "To each their own" but shit like this still kind of bothers me, I don't know why.

And to think MY mom called ME a 'cougar' because I gave it a shot with a guy who is 22. I'm 28ntongue

Regardless of the age difference, it's gross a mom would go after a man her daughter was interested in, dating, or even formerly saw as a love interest. There are plenty of men, young and old, the Cougar-Moo could pursue, so her choosing her daughter's former love interest sounds a bit creepy and premeditated. The only thing more nasty would be if he reciprocated Cougar-Moo's feelings. What is WRONG with people?Thumb Down

If YOU are the "exception" to what I am saying, then why does my commentary bother you so much?
I don't hate your kids, I HATE YOU!

Wow. If my mom ever pulled that shit with me, that would be the last time she saw me again. I understand May December romances do happen, but it sounds like your friend’s mom is trying to recapture her lost youth. It’s unbelievably pathetic and sad. It’s similar to those geezer breeders who spawn with younger women just so they can prove their dicks still work. I knew somebody like that. He was in my Journalism class. He was your typical geezer breeder – fat, unattractive with a high-pitched, scratchy, cartoonish voice. He had to be about sixty with a seven-year-old son.
Mind you, his wife was a mail order bride who couldn’t speak much English, which explains how he managed to spawn.
Then there’s my mom’s cousin who is almost forty with four kids from different baybee daddies who managed to shack up with a 22-year-old. She’s now pregnant with his loaf. So that will make five kids, and something tells me she ain’t done yet. I’m sure when she has no more use for him she’ll move on to a new boy toy.
When I was in grade eight one of my itinerant teachers told me about another blind student who at 18 whent off with a 54-year-old man and eventually spawned with him. I remember thinking… Ewwww. Who does that?
I’d love to know how that relationship turned out.

Supposedly this woman got the idea that it was alright to pursue her daughter's ex because a friend of hers did it. Cougar-Moo has a friend at work who is 55, married and actively pursued one of her son's friends. She had the same MO, too. Checking his FB everyday, getting his number out of her son's phone and developing a relationship with the kid's mother.

I see nothing wrong with May-December romances, but for Dog sakes, don't shit where you eat! If these women want a hot boy toy instead of their husband's semi-flaccid cock, well more power to them. But stalking your children's friends and exes is just really gross. And there's some kind of psychological/Freudian shit at work, but I don't know what it is.

Ehhhhh.

Nothing wrong with chasing younger boys...I have friends that are cougars...but my friends know the concept of boundaries and they don't overshare. Sheesh.

If you start chasing after a relative's or friend's ex it says something about your emotional maturity and self esteem. Do you really want to be with someone who is comparing sex with you with sex with someone you know (especially if they think the other person was better)? I think that's the bad idea here, not the age difference.

There is nothing gross or wrong about cougar dating. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

What's squicktastic is just WHO she's dating. Pursuing someone's ex is at best lame and at worse a total betrayal. Going after the ex of your daughter??? Creeee-pee!
