Dead on!

I thought I was only one of the few who believed people should be licensed AND trained, before becoming parents.

I wrote a paper on that subject 20 years ago for a child development class.

Just because your body works, doesn't mean you're mature enough to raise a human being (or in some cases LOTS of human beings).

Also, people shouldn't be allowed to breed indiscriminately without considering the consequences - to both society and the environment. I'm of the opinion that if you can't afford them, don't have them (kids cost at least $250,000 each to raise them to adulthood - that's an old figure, and it doesn't include a fancy-schmancy college).

Now, if we could get rid of the "right to lifers" this world would be in better shape. They constantly (and at times violently) rail about a child's right to be born, but they don't care what happens to that poor soul once he/she is born.
