I think we should ban breeders who cant be bothered to watch their lids

How about we ban the "attractive nuisance" clause and bring back personal responsibility? A pool I build in MY yard is for MY personal enjoyment. If I have not given explicit permission for you and/or your brats to be in my yard and pool, your and your brats' presence is not permitted. If you and your brats decide to circumvent that, I should not be held responsible in any way for anything that happens to them.

Breeders and brats have community pools to infect and destroy, which is why I would have a backyard pool. Then they wanted to avail themselves to personal private property without permission and when they drowned or got hurt, they decided that it wasn't their fault that the pool they had no business being in, on the land they had no right to be on and on which they were trespassing, was so enticing that they just couldn't help it.

Instead of trying to ban backyard pools, we need to find out why kids are getting dumber. When I was a kid, the only requirement for a backyard pool was a fence around the yard. We didn't have pool alarms, additional gates around the pool, etc., and drownings were very rare.

As I've said before, I lived in a house with a backyard pool and didn't learn to swim until I was 13 years old and I didn't drown or even fall in. I guess I was smart enough to know better.

When my parents were at the height of their "John must devote his life to swimming" kick, I was often left alone with my sister, only a year and a half older than I was, in the pool with no adult supervision and there were no problems. One time my sister got mad because I would do what she said and went back in the house and when I tried to go in the house too, my mother said "Outside!" and escorted me back to the pool and told me not to get out until she came and got me. I, a person who didn't know how to swim or even float, was required to stay in a pool with no other person around or adult supervision, for over an hour, and nothing happened.

Maybe all of these drownings are proof we are devolving as a species.

Better idea, charge the breeders with the child's death. Every time. They're supposed to be watching their kids. Start holding breeders accountable, and I bet pool drowings and lock-in-hot -car syndome cases will magically drop.

The whole "attractive nuisance" bullshit seems to just be a way for breeders to avoid having to take responsibility for their bastards' actions. If you put up a fence around your pool in your own backyard and/or can fold up and lock the stairs (for above-ground pools) and Johnny Awtard from next door still manages to trespass, climb over everything and drown, how's that the pool owner's fault?

Why isn't it the parents' fault for not watching their bastard and not teaching his ass to respect other people's property? If your fuckin' kid dies in the neighbor's pool, why is it not held against the parents, like in the form of neglect? Or abuse, as I'm sure some cases involve Mommy telling Junior to go play next door so she doesn't have to deal with him for 20 minutes (or post-natal abortion attempt where someone else can take the rap and Moo can possibly sue).

Kids die in hot cars every single year, but no one's talking about banning cars. Consider how many kids are beaten or raped to death by Moo's fuck of the month. Should we ban men too? Tards drown in ditches - let's ban those too! Rather than PARENT their kids, breeders would much rather just ban everything so they don't have to do their damn jobs.

If there's one thing kids are real good at doing, it's killing themselves. You could put a child in a padded room with nothing in it and, if the kid's dumb enough, he'll have figured out how to smother himself to death on the wall padding.

If someone wants to have a pool in their backyard, they shouldn't have to worry about being sued every which way because a negligent breeder let their kids help themselves to the pool and they drowned in it. What's next? Kyds helping themselves to the neighbor's garden without permission, one of the brats dies because it's allergic to zucchini and Mommy and Daddy sue the homeowner? Bullshit! Kids will always find ways to kill themselves no matter what you ban, so it's better to just accept that brats will die for totally stupid reasons. And if your kid is one of them, be glad Darwin saved you tons of money and years raising a moron.

Kids aren't getting stupid. They are neglected as parents have phones glued to their ears and their time is not dedicating to training the feral creatures. Tossing a sandwich at it and then spending all your time yacking on the iPhone won't teach it to stay out of trouble.

Ugh, "attractive nuisance" laws chap my hide. I don't mind fence requirements, because if I have my own pool I don't want people getting into it. It's mine. Paragon, I'm totally with you.

Thought given how many ineffectual parents I've seen "supervising" their kids at pools, I'd say that they're not a great bunch when they DO keep an eye on their kids. If I had a book, magazine, tanning mirror, or phone in my hand while on the guard stand, parents would demand my head. And rightly so. If you're supervising a swimmer, your eyes should be on the damn water at all times.

Teach your kid to stay out of others' yards, and if in the process of trespassing they happen to remove themselves from the gene pool, that shouldn't be my liability. It needs more chlorine anyway.

Another thought: not sure if it's kids getting dumber, or the fact that we live in a hypersaturated 24-hour media culture where we HEAR about every single child death from all over the country. Kids died in accidents thoughout history. Eaten by sabertooth tigers, drowning in streams, falling down wells, kicked by horses, or wandered off into the prairie. But unless it was in your town, or maybe your region, you didn't hear about it.

Now every time a kid dies, it's on the news for several days, and we hear about ALL of them. This coincides with a cultural shift toward a less acceptable level of risk in play, entertainment, etc. Tree-climbing, creek-wading, pick-up sports games, and lots of other staples of childhood are now considered dangerous.

It sounds like another case of breeders policing the rest of the world. Your own decisions made about your own property might possibly allow my kyd to abort itself if I'm not a proper parent. Since being an improper parent is seen as a right, clearly it's the neighbor's private pool that ought to go.

Time to surround the yard in razor wire. Wait. Prescious might get hurt trying to tresspass.

I love how they say small children dont understand "trespass" that may be, but if they are roo young to understand then why are they unsupervised to begin with, ive heard of cases where kids drown in neighbors pool cuz their handler was asleep

How about banning breeders and their ill-gotten spawn from trespassing onto people's private property and performing PNAs there? WTF is wrong with society?
