"And there's no scary jungle gyms. Whoever heard of a kid falling off a tombstone and hurting himself?"

I guess he never heard of the kid in TX who was killed when the tombstone fell on him. I hope "cemetary gyms" don't become a thing with today's breeders

If the kid damages a gravestone, will the parents be paying to replace it?

Not if the kid gets a scrape or bumps its head tumbling from a falling gravestone. Or the parents make up some injury the child got when the stone fixture fell. Then the parents would wail "How could you expect me to pay for repairs when my child nearly got squashed/needs medical attention?!" and get pardoned and not have to pay.

Many century old headstones are so weathered and fragile. They are irreplaceable. You need cemetery records just to know what they say.

Yesss, we've already had this discussion:

Maybe a completely new thread could be created, something like "graveyards and chyldren"
which would contain the cases from all over the world.
Something is telling me that the thread will be updated on a regular basis....

How fucking selfish. The last thing I'd want to deal with at a cemetery while I'm mourning is this idiot's shrieking ape-child.

This really chaps my ass because of the lack of respect it shows to the dead. "Sure, why don't we go ahead and let Bratleigh stomp on the remains of someone's Uncle Arthur or Great-Grandma Eunice?" It's one thing to take a kid on a walk through a graveyard to show them that any fears they have of zombies bursting out of the ground are unfounded. But no, you don't literally let your crotch dropping dance on someone's grave because it's "fun" and a cheap alternative for Duh as opposed to Chuck E. Cheese. It's blatant disrespect. I kind of hope Duh's minivan ends up haunted.

Tombstones can be beautiful pieces of outdoor sculpture.

This is why brats should not be playing on or around them. But unlike a lawn ornament sculpture, a tombstone will have emotional and sentimental value to the decedent's family. Even if Duh's precocious progeny is "just" molesting the stone, what if a relative of the person in that grave stops by for a visit or to touch up the flower arrangements on that grave? What will they think seeing a total stranger letting their kid feel up this piece of rock that costs several thousand dollars?

Also, some folks like to leave little gifts and items on their loved ones' graves. If a grabby brat decides to lift something off a grave (even, say, a teddy bear from a dead kid's grave), will Duh go out of his way to try and figure out where it came from? Will he even try to keep his little cum-dumpling from taking shit off strangers' graves? If he'd rather take his kid to a cemetery instead of a playground, my guess is he's not the type who will try too hard to stop his kid from stealing flowers off the graves of strangers.

Cemeteries are not macabre and it's fine to demonstrate to a kid that they are not places to be scared of. But they also need to be shown that cemeteries are places where you act respectfully and not like a retarded monkey. Take your fucking brat to a playground to be touchy-feely with rocks. Unless they are visiting a deceased relative, a kid has absolutely no reason to be in a graveyard, and no one of any age has any reason to be playing in a graveyard.
