Cracked writer's sprog died of SIDS

He admits at the end life got easier as they were down to one kid, but insists that SIDS just happens. The kid died when he was at work.

There's no such thing as SIDS. Healthy babies don't just suddenly die. It's either murder or an undiagnosed medical condition.

Baby found under a blanket? Probably suffocated.

Not entirely true. SIDS does exist, but it's much, much rarer than was once believed. A baby that does die of SIDS has usually had some kind of undiagnosed genetic condition. And yes, some babies do accidentally suffocate themselves with blankets or pillows, resulting in a diagnosis of SIDS.
