Simple? Hell no! Life isn't simple, or easy. And that holds true for nearly every person on this planet. Your best bet is to make the best of it. And if you live in the US, the "system" you are living in works pretty well. Hopefully you won't ever have to bring charges against another party, but if you do, this is a place where your case can be heard. That's all anyone can ask for.
