Not what I was expecting....

Where was the thread where someone mentioned all the kyds that get born 9 months after major disasters? 'Cause I just saw this posted on someone's FB page:

"I urge all my friends and family in Florida and Georgia to please be careful.
I can't afford to go to 27 baby showers in April because you lost power."

Think about it: what is sex, really, but the assurance that life will go on?

A hell of a lot of fun, if you do it right. winking smiley

(I get what you mean, though, that people may instinctively turn to sex as a reassurance that they are still alive and aren't going to die.)

My life goes on, with it or without it though.

I bet we'll see a lot of kids named Irma and Harvey in about nine months too.

I mean I can see a lot of reasons why people will decide to fuck during a power outage, especially one caused by a natural disaster: boredom (because they can't have their faces glued to their various screens), wanting to be close to someone during a time of fear and uncertainty, and like other people said, just simple reassurance that they're still alive. Unfortunately, contraception probably falls to the wayside during such times, either because it's not accessible or because the parties involved don't care. It's probably the people in the areas that weren't hit quite as hard who are bumping uglies - the ones who got cornholed the hardest are probably just trying to stay alive and trying to find a dry place to rest for five minutes.

Not to mention the people fucking almost certainly can't afford to have a kid anyway because they'll be spending all their money rebuilding their homes so they can be blown over by next year's hurricanes. And Junior will arrive just in time to drown with the rest of the family.

This line alone made me lol hard. Thankfully, I'm in a non-flood zone, but am surrounded by nimrods who breed without thought to their circumstances. And also give little thought to how to prepare for a hurricane. Just "love" the transplants who ignore all advice ('it's not gonna hit here - I don't have to prepare or worry')
