tl didn't look: parunts are painting their babys' butt cheeks orange, surrounding them with pumpkins and putting them on Instagram.

I made the mistake of logging on FB, and although none of my friends is indulging in this idiocy, it's in my feed.

What the ever loving Hells are these moos thinking? And how is this not exploitation, possibly child abuse (making your waist-down-naked kid stand in a pumpkin patch) and border-line pedophilia?



Halloween needs to come and go so this trend dies.

Yeah, I don't understand why baby nudity is okay when it's the breeder behind the camera, but child porn when it's anybody else.

(I remember reading an article on pedophilia where the author talked about the disparity between punishments if a stranger molested a child vs. a parent doing it. The stranger could get crucified while the parent might only wind up in counseling. As the author noted, it was a lot safer to "grow your own victims.")

This disgusting trend seems to crop up every year.

This is pretty bad, but nothing new. I remember years ago there was a TV ad for a well known charity that raises money to prevent birth defects. The beginning of the commercial showed a naked kid from behind and then the camera closed in on his butt to where it filled the screen while a song was playing. I looked for it online but didn't find it. I always thought it was weird.

I've also seen diaper commercials show baby butts and thought it was disgusting. Why do they get away with this with babies?

Baby butts are also significantly more likely to suddenly start spraying something than adult butts. I don't even want to imagine how much shit flowed during filming those commercials.

OMG. This is so disgusting.

I find it ironic that they paint them to look like Pumpkins. After all, both contain gross slimy sludge that requires the handler to scoop it out of their cravASSes, and is likely to have flecks turn up in places, well after the initial scrape out.

I don't see why anyone would look at a butt and think it looks like a pumpkin anyway. Maybe two halves of a pumpkin but that's a stretch and why even go there?

Nothing remotely logical about any of this, but if you painted these kids' heads orange that would look like a pumpkin, because kids have huge, round and usually ugly oversized craniums anyway. Paint it orange, stick a stem on top of the head and call it done.

You have to wonder about the mindset of the person who started this. Was someone sitting around and looking at their kid's ass and thought, hey I'll paint it orange? It's gross and creepy and these parents are fetishizing their kids in this way. And I'll say it: some very disturbed people look at kids' butts and have sexual thoughts. (Shudder.) Aren't they thinking about their kids' safety and the right not to have their naked images posted on-line?
