Being a man, I don't know, but why would a woman go through a uterus transplant? They say it's for the "experience" but isn't having a baby very painful?
Is this necessary?

“We do transplants all day long,” says Dr. Giuliano Testa, the leader of the uterus transplant clinical trial at Baylor, and surgical chief of abdominal transplant for Baylor Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute. “This is not the same thing. Clearly it's not. Transplants usually keep people from DYING. I totally underestimated what this type of transplant does for these women. Because perhaps you expected these women to think logically? What I’ve learned emotionally, I do not have the words to describe.”

500K? Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to hire a surrogate?

Another thing I cannot understand and it was discussed here, why is having a baby so painful and such a big deal with all the screaming?

It's because of the baby's-head-size-to-mother's-pelvis-width ratio. Human infants have large heads to accommodate our large brains. Unfortunately, women's pelvises have pretty much maxed out on how wide then can get. Any wider, a woman wouldn't be able to walk, let alone run. That's why human birth is so fraught with pain and danger.

It's OK you don't have to, it's a rhetorical question. But one question I have had is that if one has to go through a uterus transplant, wouldn't it be much easier on everyone, even though it's a weird idea, to grow a baby Outside of a body? It sure would save a lot of pain, just open when ready. Surely, we humans (maybe the Instant Pot people?) could not have found a way?
