One thing is certain. This woman in not sane. She loaded the gun with bullets facing the striker and primer/case facing the barrel. I think she used a wrong gun. She was meant to use this one:

Police arrested a Buckeye mother accused of shooting her 2-year-old son to death before stabbing herself in the neck with a knife.
