Who's going to take care of you when you're old? Part 2,486

Here's a gem of a son:

30 years old, no job, refuses to work. Parents are now taking it to the state supreme court to evict the lazy fucker. Yeah, I really see lazyboy stepping up to the plate and caring for these oldsters in their time of need [/s].

They would have been better off staying childfree and investing their money.

Perhaps he'll go from mooching off his parents to a free room in jail.
This also reads as a son who is thinking, “Like they’d really do it.” I would bet my student loans that his parents raised him with very little follow-through on the discipline front. They may have threatened punishment, but never actually carried it out. And was likely never given responsibilities, hence him being 30 and not working or at least helping around the house. So part of this is the breeders’ fault. After 30 years of leniency, they’re now trying to put their foot down and it just doesn’t work that way. At this point, they’re going to have to nut up and get the police involved to escort the son out and to arrest him if he tries to trespass.

But all society should rise up in alarm when it hears that a baby that is not wanted is about to be born."

why in hell does one need to go to supreme court to evict someone just because it is your fuck trophy??

CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children.

The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one. Leo J. Burke

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.
I'm not sure upon what grounds the courts are even considering this case. He's not a minor, does not own the property, and has no lease.

If the courts somehow find in his favor, it will set an enormous precedent and be a big win for Generation Snowflake.

Apparently in that state you have to take it to the Supremes to evict a family member. I’m sure the original intent was to prevent spouses who own the family home from tossing the other spouse out in the street.

If they change the locks, buy him a storage unit and offer the key then wouldn't it be difficult to impossible for him to take legal action against them? After all, this guy has no job to pay any legal fees. And I think he may have better things to do with his time and money than go after his parents. Perhaps finding a full-time job, repairing a vehicle and finding a place to live?

I always thought a parent can kick out their kid once they turn 18 legally. This could be a case of untreated mental illness and he knows he can't make it in the world out there

I hope he loses, but most probably some bleeding heart liberal will insist that the wee darling mooch off his elderly parents for ever. If I were them, I'd sell the house ASAP to one of the We Buy Houses groups, clean out the 401 k and move to Tahiti.

Update: The judge gave him an eviction notice.
Re: Who's going to take care of you when you're old? Part 2,486

They are probably treating him as a squatter. They officially evicted him, he objected and HE brought it to court b/c he wouldn't listen to the eviction notice. HE is appealing, that is why they are going to the State Appellate Court. That is how I understand it at least. On the news today, he said he is no burden to them as he feeds himself and launders himself....so if he has money for food and some kind of laundry service, so why doesn't he have money for adult life?

I was talking about this on twitter, about how fencesitters have kids b/c they might regret not having 'em, but no one refrains having them b/c they might regret actually having 'em, and you can't return them. Someone actually said that will inevitably lead to more regret! And, I got the parade of I never regret it, even when it's hard, you just dont understand being a parent......blah blah blah...beating with a lol hammer..

But I wonder what these parents here think about parenthood right now, and in hindsight.

I think that he is staying at his parent's house until "the last gun fires" as they say to beat down the years he owes sprog support. Maybe wrong but I heard the kid was born when he was 22, so at 30 ten more years of sprog support. He may do the welfare thing now, as he is probably only qualified for the really awful jobs and he will be expected to work those types of jobs to pay for his 8 year old mistake for 10 more years. I also think that maybe he got a seriously shit upbringing from his parents with all the personality problems that tend to come with that.

I can't say what happens in a baby daddy situation like this, but in divorces, if you can afford to pay a certain amount toward college, you have to. So if he has any minor success, he'll have to pay that too.

I'm sure this is unpopular, but it has been on my mind for awhile. Budgeting and accounting for spending for welfare type recipients. He can afford groovy items for his bedroom, but nothing else. He likely is having his food and laundry paid for by welfare. I see this with new residents in my neighborhood, have a couple of kids by 19, work at Arby's for minimum wage, but spend 25+++ dollars every few weeks getting acrylic nails and the like, and going to Six Flags w/ the kids. Average working people that make 40K may not be able to handle this stuff. It seems like they just live w/ their parents, and spend the way they wish, while qualifying for underprivileged benefits for necessities. If you didnt spend 60 dollars a month on nails, maybe you wouldnt need as much welfare for food and housing allotments. Just saying.

I quit my job and I no longer get my nails done or really go on vacations or outings. I have the money for both, but this is not a wise way to spend money when you have low or no income.

The latest is he is "trying to get custody" of the sprog, I guess to force the grandparents into paying for it.

Looks like the grandparents are the statistically rare types who refuse to take on the grandbaby.
One of the commenters admitted they got suck with their son's kid and non-working girlfriend who they are now supporting

Wow. So his parent said he could live there as long as he was either working or going to school full-time. But that isn't enough for him, he wants everything for free. And he doesn't want to pay child support either which probably has lots to do with why he isn't working, otherwise why is he so keen for holding on to the "poor person" status?

But, he does his own laundry and buys his own food. I've known 16 year olds who do much more than that for their parents.

With all the lip service given to kids isn't it shocking how so many divorced/split parents will go to extreme lengths to avoid paying child support? bemused eye roll I've heard more so many stories over the years about this.

The next step is to cut off cable, cell phone, auto internet. Sorry junior, if you want them get a job and your pwn place and pay for them.

For some reason, I find that many men really refuse to pay child support, even though they might pay other bills. I would often hear of someone's wages being garnished and it was always for child support. One of my brother's sleazy friends, he would do something to go to jail, like not pay child support, and then when in jail, did not have to pay child support.

"For some reason, I find that many men really refuse to pay child support, even though they might pay other bills."

A lot of men will not pay sprog support even if they have a good job, if there is a loophole they will find it. They like the idea of their genes out there but paying for it is, I guess the term is "sunk cost" They do not get any enjoyment from the day to day of the kid and it is considered the job of anyone but them to pay up usually the welfare system or the moo can just go to work if she wanted it that much. I knew a guy in Canada when I lived there who knocked up a girl during spring break in Florida. He got a teaching job up in the Canadian north and hid up there until it was safe to come back when the moo moved on and it was too late to collect as the kid was 17 or so. He got out of it anyway and rumor was his parents helped him out on that front.

He lives now near where he grew up, married a professor, and went on to have two "legit" wanted sprogs that he and his wife support, now that the past drama is over. A lot of men do not want sprog support payments cutting into any fun $$$ so the taxpayer can go deal with it.

Now Lazyboy made Salon magazine:

Apparently it's everyone else's fault that he refuses to get a job because he doesn't want to pay child support.

If the parent don't do something now this will be their lives in 20 years. Just hoping they are not physically in danger at this time:

He left today, a couple hours before the deadline. Something tells me this isn't the last we hear of him, and it won't be pretty.

I guess he is moving in with a relative who is on disability. He sold pics of his bedroom to TMZ news and I am thinking that there will soon be a reality show in the future called "Sprogs who just won't get the F out" or something. Follow their lives as they are kicked out and forced into the job world for the first time.
