I agree fully with this statement. The fact that he wasn't doing this out in the open, the fact that he was sneaking into her bedroom to do this, shows consciousness of guilt. He knew what he was doing was wrong, and yet he continued for two years.

I feel so awful for the victim. She will have to live with the fear of this monster coming back. Tardism is not and should not be an excuse to commit crimes.

I hate how this is reported. Sex abuse is NOT a symptom of autism. I don't care what version of the DSM you look in. The kid's a sexual deviant & a threat to society, period. He might also happen to have autism, but you don't get to blame one on the other. I have Asperger's & have never once dreamt of touching someone without their consent. {Shudders}

Stories like this give autistic people a terrible name & one that's undeserved. Socially awkward, eccentric, weird? Yes. But molesting children is NOT a trait of autism spectrum disorder. Stahp. I'd also like to add that I'm sick and tired of psychologists saying that people who molest children were likely molested themselves when they were kids. I was molested, and I would never DREAM of touching anyone inappropriately, let alone a kid. People who do that sicken me beyond belief, and should go to jail.

I'm sure there is a percentage of pedophiles who were molested when they were kids, but I'm also under the belief that most of the victims do not turn around and hurt others. I don't like kids very much, but I cannot stand the thought of them being abused sexually or otherwise. If I suspect something like that is happening, I'd report it to the police ASAP.

Pedophilia is not a symptom of any disease that I know of. It isn't caused by being a victim. It's some kind of sick, twisted fetish or desire to be able to control a victim who is weaker and smaller, and force them to do things against their will.

Yes, this is a real problem. A scary number of women are molested as children; if that made you a molester yourself, well, it would be normalized by now. It's nothing but an excuse, and a poor one at that, to try to protect the criminal rather than the victim.

Agree, MumofSixBirds. Of course molesters are going to CLAIM that they were victims themselves. It shifts some of the blame off them & makes them look like the victim. But there's no scientific way to validate those claims, is there? So we'd be relying on the word of a child molester or rapist if we took the claim at face value. Some of them MIGHT have been abused...some not. But that is certainly not the cause of their behavior even if they were. If something fucked up was done to you, the only reason you'd perpetrate it on the next generation is if you're also sadistic & cruel. You know it's against the law & against the moral code of society so "it happened to me" is no excuse.
