They get cash. They use it to buy beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

I might not have a problem with it either if everyone received help equally.

In USA, being that government does not own much, government has very little revenue. Most revenue comes from taxes. Someone has to pay for someone else to receive. There will always be those who pay and those who receive.

@welfare: it's a good system for those who receive the benefits and those who sell products and services to welfare recipients. It is a system that always has money. Unlike Social Security that is always under threat of being insolvent, welfare always has money.

I often hear a statement: welfare helps the economy. So I followed the money and looked at who makes such statements: Major retailers. But of course. Welfare checks are spent on food and other necessities. Retailers love it. So they lobby for welfare increase.

Thanks for pointing this out. It is a guaranteed stream of income to grocery stores, etc. that they can count on. I hadn't thought of this before. And wealthy people are more likely to purchase stocks in the retailers knowing the government subsidizes this spending. I would guess that the brat monthly payments and other recent tax proposals is more of the lobbying for welfare increase to benefit these same retailers.

More breeder pleasing with our tax dollars

The bill would expand the child tax credit that currently allows families to claim up to a $2,000 credit for children under 17 years of age. If approved, the plan would extend the benefit to lower-income families who otherwise wouldn't receive the credit. Families could claim up to $3,600 per year for a child under 6 and up to $3,000 per year for those between the ages of 6 and 17.

The plan also removes a provision that you have to make $2,500 a year to receive the credit and makes the credits fully refundable. In addition, it would expand tax credits for one year to help cover the cost of childcare. Families could get back as a tax credit as much as half their spending on childcare for children under age 13, up to $4,000 for a single child and $8,000 for two or more children.

Any tax credits for CF people for having a smaller carbon footprint? Of course not

Translation: pay nothing in, get money out.

The people who are paying in are taking it up the ass.

I am seriously thinking of buying land, going off the grid, and stockpiling weapons because the Government is on the way to failure and breakdown. It's going to be every person for himself/herself in the next few years.

With such handouts, one would think that Uncle Sam would have trouble getting any more credit. At some point those who work will have to pay...

At one time, I was thinking Affordable Care Act was a good thing. But same thing happened there: they made it cheap for some folks and made it very expensive for others. Those who were paying, they got shafted. There is something wrong with this whole picture and it keeps perpetuating.

I used to consider myself a liberal, but the more handouts are given to breeders the less liberal I feel. FFS, no government should be in the business of encouraging more births! Especially considering the Earth is on the brink of environmental disaster (already happening in some places)--why the hell should having more children be a good thing? Oh, that's right, my child will save the planet with some great new idea/gadget, etc. We CF are already screwed tax-wise.

It takes a child to raze a village.
Re: Once again, a big FUCK YOU to the people picking up the tab

Once living conditions become good enough without having children, more and more people are one and done or none. The governments can throw money at them to try to encourage it (as in much of Europe and east Asia) but people aren't buying. They can see that the drudgery isn't compensated for with the sums that are being offered. Even when the tax burden is worse, kids still aren't worth it for many.

It seems the best way to encourage breeding is to keep the population in desperate circumstances, and then give them tiny benefits for reproduction. Limiting access to contraception, sex ed, and abortion also helps.

Countries should use the opportunity covid has created to restructure their economies so that they aren't predicated on endless growth, because even if the breeding approach worked in the past, it is not what will help in the future. With the increase of drones, it's not even as if they are required to be cannon fodder.

I used to consider myself not just a liberal, but a lefty liberal. In a successful socialist society, everyone has to contribute to the best of their abilities. It is not happening today. So if what is going today is the new form of liberal, I personally can no longer align with that.

COVID-19 Bill Grants $21,000 to Federal Workers Who Have Kids Home From School – Federal Benefits Service

https://federalbenefitservice.com/covid-19-bill-grants-21000-to-federal-workers-who-have-kids-home-from-school/

Federal employees did not lose their jobs during shutdown. Yet, they get all this extra cash... all for breeding

Not to get political here, but I see no difference as far as pandering to breeders goes, no matter which party holds the majority

Quote
FederalBenefitService.com
There are extra benefits for federal workers within the $1.9 trillion emergency aid package designed to aid in the nation’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, primarily being that it offers extra paid time off as long as the federal employees’ child isn’t back to in-classroom, full-time instruction.

With the bill as it stands, a full-time worker can acquire up to 600 hours in paid leave, with which the person will be paid up to $35 an hour and $1,400 a week. This means a federal employee can get up to $21,000. A part-time employee or an employee with a seasonal work schedule will both also be eligible for the paid leave according to equivalent hours established by the applicable agency.

For me personally, it's hard to tell what is what and who is who, as of lately. I was told this (for whatever it is worth, I can't guarantee accuracy). If under age kids arrive at the border, they are not turned back. They are allowed to stay and their parents can come over as well to accompany minors. I don't know any details as how much do refugees get, but it does explain the influx of underage people.

I just want to know one thing: how do I get something for free?

Most of the people getting the freebie Bennys from the government are using those tax credit dollars on fucking tattoos, liquor, cigarettes, and possibly even meth.

At least where I live, and yeah, it's a red state.

Where I live, they are buying crypto with stimulus checks. Deferred student loans? They are buying more crypto. No evictions until 2022? More crypto and then stonks... #hodl it all #diamond hands. When rent comes due, will there be another extension? One would hope so or there may just be a sell off to cover rent. I am sure student loans are getting erased by uncle Sam, so I doubt that will ever be an issue

I wonder how many housing complexes will end up being owned by government because the landlords went out of business or gave up.

I know a few average people with rental properties who are selling right now because:

1) They have not received any rent money for about a year (they were sold on the idea of "passive income", they now have active expense)

2) Property values are highest that they have been

3) Houses sell in less than a week, even with tenants in it

You are correct. There are a lot of overseas investors who are flush with cash who are buying real estate by the block. Some home builders have sold entire developments to such investors. Texas is hot for that.

In the past, most of investor money has gone into commercial properties and apartment buildings. Last few years, attention has shifted into real estate due to growth potential. I know a few real estate agents and what they see is an individual with a pre-approved mortgage who gets outbid by someone with cash in hand.

Just when I was thinking that it could not get any better for breeders, more news are coming out. USA is the best country in the world: for those who breed. Before the right blames the left and before the left blames the right, I must mention one important fact: both sides are responsible for breeder pleasing.

A large swath of American households may pay nothing in income taxes for 2021, a new congressional report suggests.

Taxpayers with income of less than $75,000 are projected to have, on average, no tax liability after deductions and credits when they file their 2021 returns next spring. They will also will get money back from the IRS, according to recent estimates from the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation...

The main drivers for nonpayers are the [earned income tax credit] for lower earners and the child tax credit for families with children after accounting for the standard deduction

As for details of the credits: The child tax credit is enhanced for 2021 in several ways, including by raising the per-child payment to $3,000 from $2,000 for families with income below certain thresholds (phase-outs begin at $75,000 for singles, $112,500 for heads of household and $150,000 for married couples), with an extra $600 for children under age 6. Children age 17 also qualify for the first time.

More at the link

At this point, if they proposed a law to tax CF at $10,000 per month, it would pass as long as the wording included: "It is for the children"

Currently, a single CF person making $75000 per year is paying $9562 in federal taxes per year. If we add Social Security (7.65%) and average state tax of 2.63%, they are paying $15,300 per year. Breeders are basically getting a check for 15 grand.

I don't think there is a way to vote "bad" candidates out. Unless flat tax was the law of the land, this is never going to get any better for CF people. I don't care if it was Trump or if it was Warren or Bernie: sticking it to CF is how it is done around here

You are exactly right about that.

If you want to be really resentful, just wait until you are retired. Slog through the workforce for 40 years and save money, even though as a single or CF person, you are paying the highest tax rate possible. No tax breaks for you. Nevertheless, every year that a 401(k) was available to me, I put the maximum in that, and I put additional money into other investments too, which I could do BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHY. And I also lived a pretty simple life and avoided debt. I actually did not own a house until I was in my late 30's. I kept cars for a long time, did not take fancy vacations, never blew money on salon services, didn't eat out much.

This does not even address the workplace inequities I sometimes faced, when Breeders stuck me with the work while other Breeders walked out the door, but they got the promotions, not on merit, but because they "needed" the money more than I did. (I left all these situations because I could, thankfully.)

Same. My state elects a governor this year, and one of the Democrats is already starting early. Just this evening, he ran a sob story ad that COVID has affected women! Women left the workforce and some have not returned! And he must address the inequity by offering universal chyldcare! And the wealthy must pay their share because it's only fair.

My blood is already boiling because I know what this means: "wealthy" means anyone who isn't scraping by and having kids they cannot afford. The "fair" solution would make these people BEAR THE BRUNT OF THEIR OWN CHOICES so they don't have kids they cannot afford. It's not picking everyone else's wallets to pay for it.

Social security and Medicare are already means-tested, so people who saved their money are being penalized, and there is already talk about raising capital gains past the level where they used to be, before the Republicans lowered them.
Re: Once again, a big FUCK YOU to the people picking up the tab

@Bell_Flower: You, saving for retirement, you are going to pay for that. You know that responsibility and accountability are now acceptable nowadays. I am not retired but did a few Roth conversions (pay the piper now instead of later) because I know that the longer we go, the higher the tax will be. What we have is a bottom up and top to the bottom happening today. We take from those who produce and we give to those who consume. Who benefits? Every major retailer, at least. Breeders will spend the money. CF will save. But today, savers are losers.

You know who makes me laugh? All those "sovereign citizens" running around with crypto stored on their jump drives. Someone lied to those people and they didn't bother to check: crypto is not anonymous. Crypto exchanges require way more verifications than a regular bank. Digital assets can be shut down at the request of the government. Are people like out of it or something?

What we got in USA, unfortunately, is not unique to USA. It is the way that the world works. Breeders are a majority and they vote for those who redistribute wealth. Our politicians do not give a crap about women. If they did, abortions would be paid for by the government and would be accessible to anyone who wants it. Lip service to women is really a lip service to single moos. If we can have WIC program expanded, major retailers will benefit and donate to political fund. Who pays for WIC? Taxpayers. Anyone wonder why is it that Social Security always claims to be low on money while welfare is never questioned? Same reason as above. If we stop welfare, breeders will not spend as much. Retailers will see fewer profits. So of course retailers will support a pro-welfare candidate. Yes, it is nothing more than taking from one and giving it to the other.

I am not sure what would it take to turn this world fair. Just like that CNBC article said, not paying taxes is nothing new. That is correct. A family of 4 with only 1 income producing adult would not pay federal tax. Recently, our congress has simply expanded that.

Speaking of "Fair". Have you seen the CARES act deal? Those who took from retirement accounts to make ends meet during pandemic, they have to pay tax on all of that. Those who received unemployment, American Rescue Plan has exempted $10,200 from taxes. Yes, we punish those who save.
Re: Once again, a big FUCK YOU to the people picking up the tab
April 27, 2021
The push for student loan forgiveness seems to also be related to breeder incentives because people are postponing/not having brats because they have too much debt and oh nooeeees. If it wasn't about breeder incentives than offer a benefit that would be much more inclusive, such as qualifying for Medicare at 62 instead of 65? Those who have student loans at 62 would benefit because they would spend less on insurance and those who don't have student loans would benefit for reaching 62.

It is all about breeder votes/pandering and I don't see that much of a difference between either party. I don't really care where they stand on social issues as a libertarian and think the government needs to kindly excuse their authoritarian butts out of social issues. Separation of church and state and all that. Not passing judgement or laws on lifestyle choices doesn't mean I'm complicit in expecting taxpayers to bankroll the personal choices of others. We all know exactly who is benefiting from all those services paid for with tax dollars.

And you would think the politicians would understand the way inflation works but their actions prove they are either ignorant (which I don't believe based on the fact pretty much all of congress are millionaires) or they don't care.

Spouse and myself are well paid DINKS. It took us a long time to get to this level of salary and experience. What with Trump's extreme SALT limits and now Biden's pandering to breeders, we are paying easily $10k month in taxes, if you add up Fed, state, Soc Sec., Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment, property tax, etc...

I don't mind paying some taxes, because having a functioning society requires everybody chip in. However, when corporations pay nothing and the middle class (especially the blue states) has to pay for red states and breeders, then people like us will vote with our $$$ in mind first. I'm sick of paying taxes to support SHAMoos.

As for stimulus checks, somebody I know at Neiman Marcus told me that when the first round of checks was given out, Neiman's was packed full of people buying expensive sneakers. Not food, not rent, not necessities, but expensive sneakers. An acquaintance I know who has been unemployed for nearly 2 years complained on Facebook that paying $15 for a manicure was too expensive, the salon owners should lower the price to $12 because people are unemployed.

Obviously, we received nothing from the government except the bill to pay for all these leeches shopping for sneakers, designer duds and salon services on the taxpayer dime.

Our government thinks that "it is for the better of the children". The sad thing is, if you were to ask a single moo, these numbers simply would not register in her head. Some would go to an extent of robo-speaking that CF "do not pay their fair share". Ever felt like entitled just get even more entitled?

Rent payments are in deferment. Evictions have been postponed until 2022. In some people's minds, it is all free money. I think at least some of the shopping spree is fueled by this "free money". Just do not ask me what is happening with housing - there are just too many variables.

Someone that I know owns a car dealership. There were a lot of $1200 and $2400 down payments to buy a used car back in 2020.

If the current buying spree is fueled by "credit" obtained because certain necessities do not have to be paid at this time, we may either see a correction further down the road or we may see a strong inflation if government keeps handing out more free money. I lean towards the latter.

I do not think that gravy train is stopping anytime soon for breeders. What I am concerned with is how much we will have to pay in order for the other side to say that we do pay our fair share.
