CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children.

The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one. Leo J. Burke

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.

How these people see women
Re: It's gone

Over at reddit/Cf some are saying they are trying desparately to get in touch with their docs today to schedule sterilizations.
I wonder why it takes this for people to get moving?

If the hurricane has started why be outside trying not to blow away putting up wood over the windows. It is smart to do that in calm weather when you live in a hurricane state and the hurricane has been about to show up for weeks.

This is awful.. I never thought that we'd ever get to this point. So glad I'm past the child-bearing years - and child-FREE. I now wonder how many states will make abortion illegal. Eventually I imagine people travelling hundreds of miles just to enter a state where they can get a safe procedure in hopes to avoid one of those dangerous "back-alley" abortions. I too, fear for this country...
Re: It's gone

It's been said before, but making abortion illegal will not stop them from happening. It will just stop safe abortions from happening. I suppose it's good we're having fewer COVID surges because now emergency rooms are going to fill up with women taking/doing all manner of dangerous shit just trying to end unwanted pregnancies. There will be far more children abandoned in dumpsters and forests and thrown in rivers. There will be more children neglected, abused and murdered. But who cares, right? If a woman gives herself an abortion and dies, she deserved it for being a filthy whore and "murdering" a "child." If she keeps the pregnancy and abuses the kid she never wanted, she's a bitch who needs to rot in jail for life. If she gives it up for adoption, she's a lazy slut who is "taking the easy way out" and "not taking responsibility." Let's just make having a vagina a felony so women can just be at fault no matter what. angry smiley

All because a bunch of people who will never need an abortion decided that it's too mean to remain legal. I hate this country, I fucking hate it. Can we burn it down and start over again? I hope every single person who voted in favor of overturning Roe v. Wade gets cancer, and I hope all the men who voted to end it get kidney stones and testicular torsion at the same time.

At the very least, I know abortion will remain legal in my state. For now. I wrote to the governor and he said that as long as he is in charge of the state, he will guarantee abortion remains legal. I learned Tom Wolf is also a former Planned Parenthood escort, so not all politicians are dickheads about this issue. But all it will take is him retiring or no longer being in office for Pennsyltucky to possibly join the ranks.

In another landmark health decision, the Supreme Court has also decided that insurance companies should be allowed to determine the number of dialysis treatments that kidney disease patients require, NOT doctors. So I have a feeling that kidney disease will swiftly become a much higher cause of death in the US in the near future because insurance companies don't want to pay shit for anything and no one will be able to afford dialysis out of pocket. Welcome to the future, folks!

It doesn't have to stay like this. If a convoy was made over vaccine mandates, there needs to be 1000's of such convoys over this. "We the people" is still in US Constitution. For now. A small group of people deciding faith for half the population of the country can only be good if population accepts it. They don't have to. Peaceful protests may not do much, but if each one of us pitches in what they can and we start a huge legal campaign, we can make changes. A dollar from each US Citizen is 300 million. But we can raise more, way more. We can change laws, we can fund clinics.

I wonder how many will outlaw it as well. I know mine will because we have a trigger law in place so it's going away for sure here.

I never thought this would happen either, now I'm wondering how far down we'll slide, how backward we will become. Frightening to think about.

Good point. We can mobilize but the results won't happen overnight. Just have to keep at it, like the fundies who want to bring down everything are doing. The reason they don't give up is they think they are doing God's will. We need to keep at it and not give up no matter what happens.

There are more of us than there are fundies. They just know how to scream louder. But us, we are generally more educated and earn more. Money talks. Bullshit walks.

If we get Senate and House majority in November, we can make a few federal laws that protect women's rights. I don't expect a veto from the President

I'm glad I'm old and nearing menopause. I feel bad for younger women who don't want to be broodmares. The US, and the whole world, is headed straight down the toilet. I'm glad I have health issues that will shorten my life.

Me either. Do we really want desperate women to end up dying from a botched abortion attempt? What is next, state border patrol posted on the borders of certain states to make sure no visibly pregnant woman crosses the borders without her husband's or father's explicit permission?

Unfortunately, Gov. Wolf's term is ending soon. I will undoubtedly be voting for Josh Shapiro this November. Many people here in Pennsyltucky are fervently backing that wacko Mastriano.

On a positive note, a few hours ago, I went to a pro-choice demonstration near where I live (NEPA). We received more honks and thumbs up from passing motorists than rude comments. The Noodler wanted to attend, but she had work.

Re: It's gone

It's what may happen next which scares me so much. I surely don't trust Alito and the others to not try to follow Thomas who wants to get rid Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Thomas invited Red states to pass laws which defy those decisions so they can try to overturn them, too.

Will these Red states try to pass laws so they can prosecute people who go out of state to get abortions, or prosecute those out-of-state abortion providers? Those laws will get before the Court but I don't trust Alito and Thomas et al to overturn them.

Some of these abortion bans lack exceptions for rape or incest. So, the 15-year-old girl who is a rape victim will be forced to carry the baby to full term?

Thomas, the oldest justice (once Breyer officially steps down) is just 72, so he and te rest of the conservative majority will be on the McConnell Court for at least 8 more years, as long as they remain healthy.

Gilead here we come......
Re: It's gone
June 25, 2022
A long time ago some of us used to snark (mildly) on hysterical infertile bloggers. I remember one in particular who was smug and pretentious and thought a lot of herself and she got pregnasty something like 14 times, despite creating defecto-feti due to some chromosomal problem. (Sounds like most Breeders, right? Arrogant enough to insist their DNA must propogate, even when Nature says no.)

One time when she was pregnant with a defecto-fetus that was dying, she wanted a D&C and ran up against an abortion restriction. She railed that it shouldn't apply to her because she wanted her baybeeTM etc. and most offensively, she didn't want to be the "poster child for abortion."

That, My Friends, is precisely the reason we are in today's predicament. Say what you want about Boomers, but Boomers as a generation fought to keep abortion safe and legal. It's younger women who seek to differentiate themselves from other women and the only moral abortion is their abortion, and they don't want to fight asshole men who have no dog in the fight, but are arrogant enough to interject themselves into the argument.

This woman was not like other whores who wanted to flush their baybees, oh no. Another time she reiterated that tired cliche that feminism was about "choices" and she liked to be a SAHM and liked to shop. (Yes, she really wrote that.)

Say it louder for those in the back: abortion is about access to medical care. Just because you are a "nice" woman who doesn't want to define herself as a feminist, it doesn't mean you cannot be raped. It doesn't mean your sister or child or mother won't be raped and need an abortion. Even if you want to pop out baybees like a Pez dispenser and you Wuv Baybees and would never abort, you may get pregnant in your tube and need a removal to SAVE YOUR LIFE. It's scary as shit these right wing ignoramuses want to outlaw tube removal for ectopic pregnancy, and they call that "abortion." And they want to restrict birth control.

Whether a woman is sexually active or not, she should be fighting for the right to make a decision about her own body.

I'm appalled that men and religious nutjobs want rape and incest victims to carry their baybees and they want women to die and sacrifice themselves for a fetus.

They want us to live in a barbaric society and I don't understand why more woman and men who care about women aren't standing in their way.

Oh, more than that. There are incel groups who believe that rape should be legal. They'd like a society where the first man who manages to rape a girl gets to own her. (It's unclear if he'd have to pay her father some goats.) They not only do not want women to have reproductive choices, they don't want them to have any choices at all.

I often wonder why violent left-wing groups seem to have disappeared from the US after the late 1960s, early 1970s. Since then, violence - from murdering doctors to blowing up buildings to mass shootings - has been almost entirely right-wing, while a false equivalence is made about the similarity of protest and violence ("good people on both sides") and the media has given religious fanatics a platform under the guise of hearing both sides of "the issue" - as if there weren't a right side and a wrong side on matters like "gay people deserve human rights" vs "gay people should be killed" or "our activities are causing climate change" vs "we need more research" or "cigarettes cause cancer" vs "cigarettes are good for you" or "the earth is a globe" vs "the earth is flat".

People are pushed to vote as if voting has any impact - it was Democrats who confirmed some of these "justices" and are now doing Pikachu face that they were lied to about whether settled law would change. It is Democrats who failed to use their majority to do anything to stem this tide - from opposing gerrymandering to supporting ranked choice voting to working to get the ERA finally instated - preferring to use it as a ballot issue to garner support. It is they who encourage tone policing, agreeing when the fascists call for "civility" and then hand-wringing when it turns out the fascists have absolutely no intention of being at all polite in return. It is they who voted to protect the supreme court, rather than women. Of course the repugs have been active instigators in instituting a theocracy, but with a few exceptions, the Democrats (particularly the party leadership, which has accepted and stumped for people who claim Democratic affiliation but who not support human rights) have been completely complicit.

I wonder if people who have been pushed into a corner, who have nothing left to lose, those who say they would rather kill themselves than remain pregnant, will finally abandon this mockery of pretending that there is any civil society left. Or will people just sit and take it, like they've taken all the other outrages of the last decade?
