Does anyone love their own child but not like other children?
Discussion
Am I the only one? It makes me feel bad but I just can't stand to be around other people's children. I love my child with all of my heart. I also love my nieces. Other people's children not at all..

Just goes to show that breeders only."care" about their own DNA:replicants in true narcissistic fashion

This isn't as uncommon as you might think. I've heard plenty of breeders in various sub-Reddits say they hate everyone else's brats, but their own sprogs are special and therefore the exception. I mean I guess that's good they at least care about their own kids - some parents don't even care that much.

Or in some rare cases, the person who likes their own kids may be a legitimately good parent and has raised a child that doesn't completely suck, but then they have to deal with the brats of other people who are incompetent breeders.

But then I question if they genuinely mean it when they say that, or if they only say that because they are obligated to. Because it's probably fine to say you don't like other people's kids, but it's sacrilege to say you don't like your own kids. And I'm sure it's especially bad to say you like someone else's kids and not your own, but that's probably just due to shitty parenting. Don't expect your sprog to be an angel when you gently discipline them.

Still, odds are good that narcissism is involved to an extent lke you said. People like their own little reproductive DIY projects more than other people's because they contain the parents' surely exemplary DNA.

If they do mean it, it's only because They see their spawn as extensions of themselves rather than genuine individuals

I bet dollars to donuts that if their "beloved" spawn tried to assert themselves as an individual or do anything that the breeders don't like such as choosing a different life path/career, marrying someone of a different race/culture/religion ,refusing to have children or gods forbid come out as gay/trans/gender nonconforming , those same breeders would disown them in a New York minute ("I love my kids" be damned)

You know when a little kid goes up to its parents and says "LOOK WHAT I MADE!" and shows them their awful art project they made in school? That's how parents are with their kids. They love showing off what they made like it's not the same damn thing every other living thing has done since the dawn of life itself.

And yup, parents just loooooooove their kids until those kids wind up going off the script Mommy and Daddy came up with for them to follow. When those kids don't listen, get seriously sick (like chronic disease kinds of sick), are in any way defiant, are simply different people from their parents or follow any of the lifestyle-related reasons you mentioned, suddenly those kids get harder to love. Parents want little xerox copies of themselves because it's the ultimate form of ego stroking. They don't want a child that is an individual or one that has boundaries or is just growing in a different direction. So then they have another kid they can try harder to mold into a little mini-me and ignore the first kid that came out "wrong."

always, thank god that will never be me

CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

No one is more arrogant towards women, more aggressive or scornful, than the man who is anxious (insecure..my word) about his virility. Simone de Beauvoir

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children. The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one. Leo J. Burke

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.
