It has to be awful to date a parent

This guy has an ex and at least one kid. His girlfriend is now being stalked by..I think...her ex. Instead of her being able to depend on this guy she was in a relationship with for support during a stressful time, he decided to downgrade the relationship back to "just friends" status on the insistence of the ex, the moo of the kids, and the kid's grandparents

It may make a lot of sense to do this as the girlfiend is essentially being hunted by a weirdo who could be dangerous and no one wants the kids to be a target, it is understandable. But as they say on reddit/CF no one wants to date a deadbeat parent but neither a good parent because they will always put the kids first causing the relationship to take a back burner and the parent will not be there in many cases when he/she is needed.
This guy doesn't seem to want it to end but he will end up ending it on everyone's insistence.

There are only good parents and bad parents and for the CF and even the CL, the best option is no parents.

I would like to think there are sane good parents out there that can have adult time and dont think being a good parent is dropping everything all the time for silly stuff or for kids who are manipulative, and instead teach kid, there's an adult world that includes work, responsibilities and other important people in a parent's life.

The thing is modern parenting isn't that, and if youre dealing w/ a divorced or widowed parent, I think they are always under the cloak of some guilt when it comes to the kids. "I have to be there for them!!!" When if you lived with them, you probably wouldnt be holding their hand for every little sad occurrence.

But then again, who knows? Now my friends* hug* and console their 6th grader at 7pm bcz the teacher reprimanded the whole class for something that happened earlier that day likely at 1pm during class. LOL this woulda been a non-issue for me as a kid and a non-occurrence in my house. Parunting is really something now. Then again, I've havent met a parunt that doesnt claim their kids is 'struggling' with something all the time. But this is what divorced parunts think they should be doing all the time also.


The odds of meeting the perfectly-balenced sane parent to date is low tho. Even if I was elderly, I think I'd pass on it, Parunts r too involved w/ the adult kids too and the grandkids.

Eh, I'd rather stay alone than get tied up into drama like dating a parent. Even if they're a good parent, I know I'll never come first in that person's life and while I think that's appropriate, I don't want that for myself.

I don't see too many benefits to dating a parent, even a good one - at least not for a CF person. Right now I'm not on the market at all and may never be again. I prefer living on my own, even if it can be difficult sometimes. If I need someone to help me, I have guys that I can hire for the day.

I just wanted to add that a parent dating a CF person is huge, but it's never worth it the other way around.

I still would love to invent an infallible lie detection machine (mri is the only thing that seems to be able to do this... but an mri in a courtroom??? ).. just to be able to.. figure out who is truthful or not

I have a feeling you wouldn't be the least bit surprised by the results of the lie detection machine.

nothing would surprise me. i'd love to see the impact on the legal system. but given the number of these brain dead little gurls slobbering 'my bc fail'... if i had a nickel for every time they spewed that nonsense, i'd be rich.
