Kids smashing things

https://old.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/1gyzqjz/my_5yearold_son_got_upset_that_it_was_his_bedtime/

Some guy on reddit said that his kid threw something so hard at the tv that the tv needs to be junked. The kid was told to get to bed and he was not having it. I notice that when kids do this everyone in the comments seem to just shrug and make tee-hee sounds after superficial cutesy comments of how kids will be kids.
Sometimes I wonder how parents can stand it, maybe they just paid a big bill and they are worried about job loss or making the rent and now the freaking tv screen has a hole in it.

that's the current culture. all those "funniest" shows on TV show kids getting away with such things, and everyone laughs. The other thing that I hate is all the commercials of kids AND adults trampolining on beds, couches, etc. I guess it's a way of encouraging people to ruin expensive furniture so they have to buy more? In my day, kids would have been punished for jumping on the beds, etc

I remember watching a show a long while back. I think it was "The new life of the old Christine" with Elanie from Seinfeld. One of the female characters didn't want kids so the hubby pretended a vasectomy and got her to stop BC. I believe she was knocked up soon. It was presented as "funny"

cfdavep, people find it funny because they are so brainwashed. I never found it funny. one of the reasons I didn't like the series 'dear john'. many of those characters were funny in their own quirks, but I hated john's ex. especially went she wanted to use a frozen embryo to get in pig again but wanted him to pay additional child support. I really wanted to throttle that character..not the actress of course but I DESPISED THAT CHARACTER.

on an old st elsewhere, and this was.. a bit funny.. especially given that stuck up sr surgeons response when the truth came out.. but a pregnant woman took an OR room hostage, the surgeon that had supposedly given her husband a vasectomy was doing that particular procedure, so she blamed him. (mind you this was brat #10 or so..).. she had a shotgun and even blew the cassette player apart. (funny).

they called her husband in.. turns out the chicken turd had backed out of the procedure, being the total coward he was and hadn't told her. Once the woman found out that particular surgeon was innocent, she backed off and was arrested. However, the head surgeon, (can't remember his name) was so pissed off, he told nurse to have another OR prepped and he was going to 'fix' the husband then and there. THAT I thoroughly enjoyed.

CERTIFIED HOSEHEAD!!!

No one is more arrogant towards women, more aggressive or scornful, than the man who is anxious (insecure..my word) about his virility. Simone de Beauvoir

people (especially women) do not give ONE DAMN about what they inflict on children and I defy anyone to prove me wrong

Dysfunctional relationships almost always have a child. The more dysfunctional, the more children. The selfish wants of adults outweigh the needs of the child.

Some mistakes cannot be fixed, but some mistakes can be 'fixed'.

Adoption agencies have strict criteria (usually). Breeders, whose combined IQ's would barely hit triple digits, have none.

Yes, if there's a bed on a TV ad, there's kids jumping on it and a mom smiling. My mom didnt care if I did this as very small child, but no one else's parents tolerated this. Since we are SO safety conscious now that they never show many activities that just might cause an injury, I dont understand why they show this.

My older friend said a old school chum could stay with her for a week, and the first thing the grandkid did was run into her house and start jumping on the couch. This was a house he never been in before, and a person he never met, and this is the first thing the kid does? Guess what? The grandfather that brought him, didnt say one word to the kid. I would be counting the minutes til my friend left if this is how the visit started. The kid cockblocked them for the entirety of the visit. The grandfather didnt make any other arrangements with family to have any grown up time w/ friend like a dinner to thank her. My friend put up w/ a lot, as this would be the last time I talked to the grandfather if I was she.
