I will never not be amused by the advice of putting a purse/wallet or phone or other important inanimate object in the backseat so you don't forget your child. Goes to show where people's priorities lie. They won't forget their precious phones, but they'll somehow forget their screeching brats.

I'll never believe these are accidents. Not ever. I could understand forgetting your kid for like ten minutes, but not the whole day. And isn't it also just so convenient that people only ever forget their children in the car when temperatures are hot enough to kill? I never hear about anyone forgetting their brat in the car in 60-degree autumn weather or on a nice breezy spring day. Nope! Only ever when it's 100+ degrees outside.

Breeders blame "mommy brain," but how could they forget their KID?? Mommy brain can be blamed for shit like putting your shirt on backwards or wearing two different shoes. Not forgetting a whole human being in a car for 8+ hours!

Also, kids are NOT quiet. How the fuck do they not hear their kid make a single peep? How do they not look in their rear-view mirrors and see a tiny head in the backseat? Do breeders just not use their mirrors?

The article asks what should happen to parents when they kill their kids in hot cars, and the answer is they should be charged. Even if they claim it was 100 percent accidental, that still makes it manslaughter. I'm kind of surprised there is no mention of Moo trying to sue the school for not calling her sooner about her kid's absence. Because, you know, gotta pass that buck.

Also the Moo in the article was 22 with a 5-year-old. So she doesn't sound like she had any brains in her head in the first place.

Sleeping kids (and puppies/kittens) are quite silent.

I've never brought my cat anywhere, such as the vet, and then gotten into the house and left them in there. Not once. Because that makes no sense. Even if he is completely quiet and mind you, I am a forgetful person with adhd. I don't even understand how you can forget a sentient being tha you supposedly love and care for in a car, especially a hot one. Either they're doing it on purpose or subconsciously they want to forget about the child because they regret being a parent, so they leave them in there to get away from them. It makes one a perfect martyr without the social judgement of abandoning the child/family or giving them up for adoption.

Many, if not most, breeders are quite stupid. They don't understand a car can be tens of degrees hotter than the outdoor air.

I could never forget my cat in a car personally because every cat I've ever owned would howl in a moving vehicle. There was one day I had to run to the store to get cat food for my cat after a vet visit and I was afraid of leaving him in the car for even a few minutes. It wasn't even hot - it was like the middle of March. I was worried he might still overheat or be lonely/afraid without me there to talk to him.

But then I also actually cared about my cats. I think a lot of breeders just say they love their kids because they would be strung up by their ankles if they said they didn't. When, in reality, quite a few would likely be relieved to find their kid was gone.

We have backseat alarms in vehicles now for this exact reason. How much more breeder-proofing do cars need? If we invented a car that opened the door on its own and a robot hand physically placed the brat in the breeder's arms, breeders would still find a way to roast the kid.

exactly. these cows are doing this shit on purpose. isn't it funny how they never "forget" their kid on a cool nice March day? It always happens when it is extremely hot outside. hmmm.
