I don't know which story to believe, but I will say I don't think the new version makes it particularly better. Propping your kid on a potentially deadly drop is fucking stupid, but leaving your child unsupervised near a potential deadly drop while you play games is fucking neglect. This child is just amazingly lucky that the ship's crew was well trained and did their jobs quickly and well, because no matter how it happened her parents let her down (no pun intended).

Whether they sat her on the rail or just let her jump off the ship by herself, I hope there are enough witnesses and cameras around to keep them from suing the cruise line for "pain and suffering" or whatever. These dumbasses don't deserve to profit from their abuse/neglect.
