Breeder apparently didn't have empathy before spawning brats

This sounds super harsh, but I could read news articles about disasters, murders and all sorts of horrible things and I'd think 'that's sad', but because I didn't know the people invovled I could never really relate.

Since having kids, I can't read articles or watch videos about bad things happening to kids without getting very emotional. There was a 17-year old girl that was murdered by her boyfriend in my village a few months ago, and a little 3-year old girl hit and killed by a reversing van more recently. It absolutely breaks my heart and I can't help feeling devastated for the victim and their families.

If you have no empathy, breeding doesn't make you suddenly develop it.

She says she never felt empathy toward people who suffered because she couldn't relate to them. But the examples she gives of things that upset her involved children. I can see how she might have a heightened sense of empathy under those circumstances. I think for a lot of parents, if they read a tragic story involving a child, they might not be able to help thinking how they would feel if it was their child that died, so it can hit a little differently.

I have a feeling she still lacks empathy for anything involving adults who get killed. So she only "cares" about kids who die because she is inserting herself into the tragedy. It comes right back around to being about Moo and not about sorrow or sympathy. Because the only way she can relate is to go, "What if it was MY CHILD?" It's not that she actually cares about that random family being destroyed.

Because as we all know, a death is only tragic when it involves a child. Everyone else can fuck off.

It is like these fathers who suddenly give a crap about feminism, reproductive rights and sexual assault now that THEY have a daughter. A guy like that showed up on twox once playing the "now that I have a daughter" card and he got reemed. Finding a wife doesn't seem to change anything though.

One time I said something to my pal who's a dad, and we were talking about some topic regarding someone doing this or that for their kid, at the detriment to others, I wish I could recall the details, but I said it's nothing but selfishness, he's like IDK if its selfishness blah blah blah. But they dont get it, you are not less selfish because you do something for 'another person' if that other person is an extension of yourself, or your family member. If youre fighting tooth and nail for something for your kid vs a kid that is not yours, thats just doing something for your offspring that you care about. The unselfish thing would be wait your turn and let the other kid win this time.

When I tried to discuss childree vs reproduction with my female friends, it was all the same thing, But "CF Uter, I'm a better person now, I'm less selfish" I didnt bicker, but what kind of person were you before? You are taking care of your kid, that you decided to have, to make your life more complete, that you must do by law, that you got fertility treatments for, because you couldnt find it in your heart to adopt another human that needed help. Just because now you have to lug a car seat when you want to go to Starbux and have to change a diaper at the last minute before leaving the house, and stay in on a Saturday nite instead of going out doesnt suddenly make you altruistic because you now have offspring. Its just a change of life.

But my co-worker said the same about his wife after they reproduced, that a sad thing happened in a movie, even to adults (that movie in the early 90s where all the old people suddenly feel young but they must die at the end) she would cry at the movie. He's like I think she's thinking what if this happened to little Kassey. Since they lacked all feelings for humans before, I'm surprised they want to reproduce a human being.

And, yes, I HATE this 'girl dad' stuff now. I'm glad there's more awareness, but I find it scary that men cant see with their own two eyes what adult women deal with w/o reproduction of a female.

They seem to have more contempt for their wives after reproduction as they just see them as a grunt worker for junior now, as they are resentful they are no longer number one in the relationship anymore and always ready for a roll in the hay. How many times do you hear "wifey's a great mom to our kids, but...." So, now youre a girl dad and respect female children and still let your wife shoulder most of the grunt work, sounds 'enlightened'.


Again, who were these people before?

I can understand a little bit of this 'understanding' when they choose to breed. but not enough to have ever make me follow the lifescript. having been shut in a suitcase by my fucking egg donor when I was 2 1/2 makes me cringe when I see these disasters where people, pets, etc get trapped.. .. my mind goes back to that dark place.. so, on that level.. I do get it. it's called projection I think.. as well. but just a 'next please' type of post by childed people.

These people who lacked empathy before having kids and broadcast it are the same ones who turn around and scream at their kids for their age-appropriate behavior.
