Reddit quote I'm gonna remember for future bingos
October 09, 2025
I found this random reply on Reddit, and I'm thinking to keep it in my cache of responses when people tell me IDK what I'm missing. Not that many people waste time on convincing me anymore since I aged out of reproduction years but every once in awhile people will come out of the woodwork and say something, still waiting for me to regret CFdom.

"You are not understanding that some people innately don’t feel a need to procreate. It’s like bemoaning that a gay dude doesn’t know how a vagina feels like. It’s completely irrelevant."

The thing is that the breeders keep thinking we dont know the joys etc of parunthood (why they care, I'll never know), but it is they who make the mistake by breeding thinking they will like it and find out they don't really. They literally dont know who THEY innately are. They want to think altruistic noble virtuous thoughts about themselves. They grasp at momentary straws of whimsy to say look how happy I am, it's all worth it. But I know I as a CF hear all the complaints, see all the frustration that goes on daily; no way they are enjoying that day in and day out. Of course I cant bring it up, or comment, but if I remain silent, almost everyone will admit that it aint all that great whatsoever. Then for some reason, they will do something stupid like having a 3rd kid for no fucking reason than to complicate their already complicated lives. They think we dont know what we are missing bcz they are not us. They think they 'were us' at one time when they didnt have kids but they are not, bcz they never really thought it over like we did, and dont want to see what we have seen in our lives. They put their blinders on for a variety of reasons.

I'm glad people of both sexes are more vocal and confident in their CFdom now, and discuss it. Sad thing is, there's less reproduction now, and society and media will just blame it on the economy. That is a smart reason, so I'm glad for that, but let's face it, it isn't just that. That didn't stop breeders before and it wouldn't stop them now if that was just the problem. But I am waiting for the articles to come out once everyone hits 40+ going, whaaah, I didnt know the economy woulda affected my fertile years like this! Just like the 90s/00s when female Boomers/older GenX'rs cried I didnt know going to college and building my career would be in the middle of my reproductive years now I'm scrambling to find a husband and go on IVF! Whaah.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the quote.

Breeders will flood to a post where someone talks about enjoying being childfree. Some will be outright rude but others will be passive aggressive. One I saw recently was talking about how he was once childless and since he now has kids (and of course the unconditional luv and it is the best thing he ever did) he is the one who is in the best spot to speak about how great having brats is. And those who don't have kids can't understand what they're missing out on. And then he made some side remarks about the great purpose his brats give him.

I wanted to tell him that the childfree don't care about what they're missing out on. We realize we can't experience everything on this planet and are fine with that. He fell for the FOMO bullshit, for the purpose, etc. and it is an irreversible decision. If he were that happy he wouldn't be trying to convince people who don't want kids that they're missing out on the best experience of life instead of spending his time absorbing all the unconditional luv.

Kids deserve to be born to parents who want them, not people who are breeders or who had them out of FOMO, seeking a purpose, or boredom.

I have to assume the people who go on the longest and loudest about how wonderful parenting is are the ones trying the hardest to convince themselves they didn't make a horrible decision.

Also, it's really easy for men to yammer on about how awesome having kids is because, generally speaking, their lives hardly change after breeding. It's because the Moos are the ones doing all the work. It's like bragging about how easy it is to build a house when you're paying other people to do it for you.

The bottom line is that everyone does not like everything. You can't feel like you're missing out on something when you have no interest in experiencing it in the first place. "Missing out" implies something you want to do, but aren't able to. For example, I have no interest in learning to drive stick. I have friends who can drive stick who go on about how awesome it is and how much better it is than automatic. That's great they like it, but for me personally, I think automatic is better for a number of reasons. It's not a matter of one person is right and the other is wrong - it's just different tastes for different people.

Just found a good reply on r/regretfulparets, in response to a moo who admits being miserable since becoming a single moo by choice, the details arent important. But I'm gonna remember this statement in case anyone gives me any grief about what I'm missing being CF, and the 'but its worth it' crap. Wish i had some of these when I was younger and it would be thrown in my face more.

Any way, here's the quote: All the pros of having a kid are subjective, and all cons are objective.

This would be a good response to those on the fence and say things like "what if I regret not having them?" Like no, if u tell them they will b giving up EVERYTHING that they know and enjoy, for a little bit of smiling after eating a piece of cake w/ a baby, they should open their fuckin eyes Confused how you regret not having something you already dont have and are otherwise fine w/ it
