Duh runs to get help to save kids in apt fire instead of getting them out. He got out in time so they could also.
The run and get help was insurance to get away with it.

So did the guy not have a phone? I find it hard to believe that, even in a state of panic, he didn't have the sense to call 911.

Also, he "panicked," but then he WALKED out the door? People don't walk when they are panicking.

And Duh described "a little fire" on the kitchen floor. How could a kitchen floor possibly catch fire? And if it was "little," why could he not extinguish it? Even if he had no fire extinguisher, if it were small enough, some water from the sink could probably work, or a wet towel. And was there no fire alarm? He just magically happened to enter the kitchen when the fire was still small and then strolled out the door at a leisurely pace to pester the neighbors?

Yeah dude, you don't run for help and THEN try to wake your kids up. You get the kids out first and then you get help. My guess is he was sick of paying child support and having the brats dropped off probably every weekend. Plus, having three brats was probably interfering with his ability to get some pussy. So he probably set a fire and waited to get help so that the kids couldn't escape.

And did he think that none of this would look suspicious at all?

Oh my god those poor kids.

One of my worst fears in life is being trapped in a burning building and not being able to get myself or my pets out alive. I'd never leave them in a fire and I'd risk my life to save them. Any human with a heart or a brain would've run to grab their kids. It really does sound totally sus and I think this waste of skin should be heavily investigated.

I wonder if he could be charged with child neglect leading to death? I'm just thinking if they can't get him on murder charges.

I think it would be considered manslaughter if he were to be accused of neglecting the kids to death. If evidence is discovered that he set the fire on purpose, that would also mean arson charges. But I'm not sure if a murder charge would stick, sadly.

I'm sure he'll get off scot-free because He's Suffered Enough^TM. I would be interested to know how he acted toward the kids while they were still alive. Like did he treat them all right? Did he hate having to deal with them? Was he abusive in any way? Because if the Moo was privy to his hatred of their kids, I wonder if she could be implicated as an accessory if she knew he was cruel to them and forced visitation anyway. Based on other sources, Moo is apparently crying all over social media about casket shopping instead of toy shopping. I'm not making fun of her grief, but she sounds like she's attention-whoring to the max. You'd think she'd need some time to grieve - you know, OFF the internet. Sounds like both the parents sucked.

And from what I'm seeing in other sources about this story, he intentionally removed the smoke detectors from his apartment because he smoked inside the apartment and didn't feel like listening to them ring every time he had a cigarette. Isn't fucking with smoke detectors in apartments illegal?

I'll be curious to see how this pans out.

I just read about this on Facebook. I thought only breeders knew true "wuv" and would never do something like this. I wouldn't even leave a stranger if we both were in a place that caught fire. That's really fucked up...but I'm just a bitch who doesn't know the meaning of true wuv!

Like the guy who deliberately left his kid in the car when he went to work, went to his car during the day (for lunch or to "grab something" as I recall) and the kid was still alive, came back in and finished his work day...clearly checking to see if his child had died yet and had to go back inside to give it more time. I don't know how his case turned out, but I remember that being the big red flag for the cops to actually investigate instead of just waving it off as a terrible but unavoidable tragedy. No one could believe he went to his car and still didn't notice his child dying in the back seat.

Hopefully the same will happen to this monster.
