Moo milking grief to not bother with X-mas

Some guy said that his wife's father died on Christmas day 2022 and even on Christmas 2025 she is not able to celebrate for the sake of her kids as the day represents him dying. This means that the kids miss out on nice memories as childhood Christmas memories are quite nice to think back on when you are an adult when Christmas just means obligations and bills or nothing at all because well...adulthood.
Anywho down the thread someone pointed out that the moo may be using the loss of her father and the fact that his death happened on Christmas day in order to get a 'get out of jail free card" so as to not bother with all this pretending Christmas is fun for the sake of the brats.

The duh rightly is pissed and said that his kids will not be able to fit in as well with their peers who come back to class in January talking about the fun they had when his kids will feel left out due to their moo. I also wondered if Christamas obligations and not being able to do Christmas your own way or not at all is something the moo really regrets and her father's death is just a cop out to ignore forced family crap.

When you have kids, there are some things you should just suck up and do whether you want to or not. Why ruin these kids' childhood memories?

Because either she had an unhealthy relationship with her father and her grief is more important to her than her children are; or she is using it as an excuse to just not do it and that's more important to her than her children are. And apparently they're important enough to dad to celebrate in spite of her, but not important enough to get them the hell away from her.
