SVU Antinatalist episode

Did anyone see the Law and Order SVU episode from back in October where a major plot point was some people from the Reddit Antinatalist sub (which is an actual sub) bombed a fertility clinic and killed a doctor? What a bunch of propaganda. In the episode, a middle aged guy who was clearly supposed to look a bit like Charlie Manson had "brainwashed" a few young women into being antinatalists and they had met on Reddit. They then went out and blew up the clinic and as a result the chief doctor died.

I had a friend visit who is in love with this show, so I watched it with her and I couldn't believe how balls out they were with the misinformation and lies. Antinatalists are generally peaceful people who don't want kids because they don't want them to suffer - that's it. Basically they are anti-suffering. I can only imagine this is more of the media in collusion with other power entities like our government and big business to get people to think being childfree and antinatalist is Big Bad. Imagine that you are the average dumdum watching this show and you have a young adult granddaughter (let's call her Becky). Becky comes home for the holidays, and MeeMaw asks when she is going to marry her boyfriend and have baybees. Becky says she doesn't want kids and that the world is going in the wrong direction for that anyway. MeeMaw thinks she has been "brainwashed" by antinatalists because she saw it on a TV show and then lectures her, freaks out and rats her out to anyone with ears, including people who could have an impact on her actual life.

I fucking hate TV in general as I see it as a tool to manipulate the masses against their best interests, but with everything going on in the world right now including the fearmongering about "falling birth rates" being an actual problem (while being told that jobs will be replaced with AI, climate change and environmental destruction caused by humans will affect our ability to produce food, etc) it wouldn't surprise me if this was done on purpose with to produce this exact outcome.

I used to watch that show here and there. I think the last time I bothered was an episode of SVU with the character of Oliver suggesting to a rape victim to birth the result of the rape, because SHE was the product of rape and therefore it was not all bad. I never watched again after that.

I also should have saved an article a while back of how networks are slowly phasing out gay characters since Dump got back in, shows featuring gays dropped by nearly 30%, characters that were protrayed as gay are starting to be written into the shows as starting to have romatic feelings for opposite sex characters.

I haven't seen that episode, but it definitely sounds like propaganda to me. I have been antinatalist before I knew there was a word for it. Back in the day, I spoke about my antinatalist feelings in one of those Yahoo! childfree groups and was chastised by the other "childfree" people. "If we say that, then we will sound crazy!" they told me...no actual complaints on the validity of the school of thought...they just were worried about what the sheeple would think. I bet the majority of those "childfree" people ended up shitting out brats one day. I can tell usually tell whether someone is childfree for real, or just haven't had kids yet (or would have them if they could) .

Unfortunately, propaganda on TV and other mass media ain't nothing new.

The ruling, ruthless and rich class fears for their amount of dependent wage slaves everywhere in the world, that's all. And cutting education, replacing it with this kind of slop, is a perfect manipulation tool, alongside social media, as everyone of you said already.

But I would like to add to Craftyzits quote about non-billionaire kids having no future.

For real I'd say- NOBODY has a future anymore because of the environmental destruction brought on by these ultra-capitalist fools.

After Earth is unstoppably going to become a complete toxic mess, polluted and with global warming in full swing, these fukkers will croak as well.

Their stupid little schemes about 'flying to space' to escape or whatever is just that - bullshit.

Their printed or even just virtual 'paper' will do them no good if there's not even gonna be food or water.
These morons are gonna be in for a rude awakening, unfortunately likely just after the working class perishes.

I gave up watching SVU when the character Olivia started having a kid and making the show about it. I prefer the earlier episodes from the late 90s.

I'm not surprised to see propaganda. Despite making a lot of leaps and bounds socially, I think childfreedom is overall still seen as a "bad" choice, so it sounds like this show wanted to paint people who don't breed as extremists in order to make them unlikeable. The plot was probably written by some bitter barren wanna-Moo who couldn't reproduce.

There are extremists in any group. Pro-lifers who bomb abortion clinics. Anti-semites who attack Jewish synagogues. PETA members killing animals because they feel it's better off than being owned by humans.
