Breeders can't pay attention to their own kids as usual even when volunteer to chaparone

“Miss, how much longer?”

Asked by a parent chaperone about halfway through a three and a half hour field trip. She was in charge of TWO six year olds. “In charge” really gives her more credit than she was due though, because I had to keep disciplining her precious child as she just stood there.

Side note: we limit how many parents can come on trips. When we ask for volunteers we get lots who request to go, and you assume it’s because they’re looking forward to a fun experience with their child. On this trip though, a good number of parents were on their phones most of the time. One dad kept taking phone calls. It was ridiculous but par for the course this year— I teach kindergarten and these are the “Covid” babies. We’ve never seen such a lack of connection between parents and kids as we have this year. The next few years are going to be rough.

Im sure they get a lot of volunteers bcz they get a free day off work, as corps like my work give at least 1 day volunteer time, and who knows what they can weasel out of their boss looking like a good parunt. Todays parent obviously has to at least look involved,but evidently not be involved, just stare at a phone. Smartphones really have brought out people's and parents' true colors if you ask me.




Teacher reddit is actually pretty scary TBH. More how kids are horrendous and they arent allowed to do anything about it. How stupid the kids are and they also arent allowed to do anything about it but pass them on to the next grade. We will likely be taken over by IDK the Chinese in a couple decades bcz all the adults will be so dumb.

I hate these sorts.

One of the things that really burns me up is the hypocrisy of parunts. That is what I end up focusing on. Tell us how great it is and how important the kids are, but they literally fake it for 20 yrs and wont admit it to themselves. I was thinking again to myself if I ever see a parunt that ever does what they supposed to be doing, or guiding their kyds correctly what they are supposed to be doing. No, 90% of the time they take the ez way out, or just give in altogether. Now we have spoilt adults raising more spoiled kyds. And, we will be going to hell in a handbasket like we predicted long ago.

So these are the kids conceived during lockdown? Am I understanding that correctly? I mean, either way, it's awful: you've either got kids born during the lockdown and parents who were so resentful of being trapped with them 24/7 that they're totally disinterested now that they can ignore them, or kids conceived during lockdown because the parents were using unprotected sex as something to pass the time rather than because they actually wanted those children. And now here's a generation of kids that aren't being socialized properly because their parents are stupid fuck ups.

My (brand new at the time) Asian neighbors conceived during Covid, they already had a small child so Im assuming it was still a planned pg. Im like great idea, expose your pregnant self during a pandemic, and later go to a hospital during a pandemic. I just remember it because she right after postpartum decided one morning to pull out a bush in front of her house by herself, I guess while the newborn was sleeping. Im thinking American moms act like the newborn is all-consuming and can't do anything physically or time-wise, and this woman is doing major landscaping by herself, while the hub was at his work. But goes to show materity leave isnt so sacred moomie and babye time, its time to do work around your house.

Can you imagine how much these people neglected their kids during lockdown to create the massive disconnect in those kids once they reached school age? I'm sure plenty of pandemic babies were the result of people not knowing what to do while quarantining/isolating, so they barebacked and and went, "We didn't social distance, teehee!"

I'm surprised this author was allowed to discipline these kids in the first place. Parents often just expect teachers to tolerate their kids' shit because they're special/autistic/a free spirit/creative genius and if teachers try to exercise any form of authority, Mommy screams at the teacher.

Phones allow parents to just completely check out of reality and ignore their kids. I'm not surprised they volunteered to be chaperones. Free day off work while someone else deals with their kids for them for free. And the school probably has a hard time finding people, so they have to take whoever they can get. A useless parent who fucks off the whole trip is better than nothing.

No wonder all the little bastards are autistic. They're probably so starved for attention from their parents that they will act out to get even the slightest acknowledgement from another human being.
