The 2X'ers and CF women

Today over on 2x the discussion was on boobfeeding in public and how it should be considered wonderful and normal as in "I am moo hear me roar and watch me run this co-oporation while I give birth and boobfeed in the boardroom" The word used was "progressive" Someone brought up how the CF tend to view public boobfeeding as a negative thing and that those CF people need to get on board and team up with women on this issue and those who are not on board are "bad representatives" of the "cf community"
I do notice when a CF woman gets on there with a complaint about not being taken seriously when they seek sterilization or needing a hysterectomy for medical reasons, there are a lot of crickets chirping. It is usually other cf women who come out and support them, crossovers from reddit/cf probably. Yet when the feminsist moos are not feeling the divine empowerment from not being honored by society for boobfeeding in an airport waitingroom then we all need to work to change that as they ignore us. Ugh

Male mods on 2X are really changing the timbre of the conversation there. It gets discussed a lot in other subs...according to most of the chatter I've seen recently, 2X isn't about a safe space for women or amplifying women's voices anymore, but rather tipping the conversation toward a more "centric" view. It sounds like they're counting on the boiled frog effect. Promoting the idea that traditional functions of motherhood are a woman's default state certainly feeds into that theory.

I unsubbed from that cesspool because they think that anything a woman does is feminist. Uhm no....getting knocked up, birthing it and being a dairy cow was how women had to live to survive 100 years ago. Women couldn't open back accounts, get credit in her own name, purchase homes, cars, etc...without a male guardian and signature. Even the 19th Amendment is barely 100 years old and neandertals want take this away from women, too.

Yeah. "Continuing to serve the patriarchy because you're brainwashed into thinking only REAL women have children/breastfeed/risk natural births/whatever" is not, and never will be, feminism. Anything that at its core only serves to keep women subjugated is not feminism, even if it's presented as a choice. Even if it's presented by *other women* as feminism.

I am perfectly fine with public beefing, just so long as I can whip out my Womanizer and get myself off in a public place of my choosing. If exposure of intimate areas is going to be allowed in public, then it needs to extend to all forms of exposure. Not just the kinds that involve babies.
