And my son, who has exhibited mild school refusal *all year* is suddenly very sad ("heartbroken" in his words) about school ending. He will likely be crying when I pick him up (he has cried all but one year upon picking him up on the last day of school)

He also decided that he "hates the beach". Y'all, I have booked a very expensive beach heavy vacation later next month. We live far far far away from beaches so he has never actually been to a proper beach. Up until recently he's been all about how he's never been on a beach why haven't we gone to a beach? FML

Thing is these parents take everything too serious. Give him encouraging words and after that ignore him. And, kids dont pick vacations, my parents and any others back in the day wouldnt give 2 seconds of thought. Modern moos brings so much stress on themselves.
