Parents are getting more entitled that ever--but these got the boot!thumbs up

Today the good guys won!! (Movie theater edition)

Went to the Odyssey today and unbelievably (although it really wasn’t) this pair of rude as fuck parents sat their kid, maybe six years old, down between them and turned on a fucking iPad.

No seriously, they brought a six year old to an R rated movie and thought no one would notice the kid watching peppa pig or some shit on YouTube just because the kid was wedged between them.
Well I absolutely noticed and immediately left the theater to have a chat with the manager. The manager waited about five minutes, probably in hopes that they’d turn it off as soon as the movie started.

Spoiler alert: they didn’t.

But I am thrilled to report the manager made them leave when they refused to turn it off!!! We won!! A victory against the invasion of bad, entitled parents and their inability to properly parent.

What did the parunts expect when they said NO? Did they think they were gonna sit there and ruin it for everyone else, just 'because'?

We've been active on this board for decades now, and somehow parunts are actually worse. I mean, the thing before the movie says 'shut all devices off', did they think there was exceptions for huge ipads and wiggily kids and parents who want a nite out, fuck everyone else behind them?!

I'm amazed the parents actually left. I figured they would have bitched about how they deserve to be there and their child isn't hurting anyone. I'm glad to hear the manager actually did something - usually they won't bother.
The manager would just call the police if they refused.

The announcement says 'turn off devices', no reason to have the announcement if they wont enforce it, especially since they thought kid was gonna use it for 2-3hrs during movie. The post doesnt say how crowded it was in there.

I'm sure there was still a scene because breeders all tend to think the rules are for everyone but them and then get mad when they find out that's not the case.

Sometimes I think the "turn off all devices" disclaimer is more for the people who bring cameras to the theater to film movies than for people who play on their phones.

In any case, I'm glad to see management actually doing their jobs and breeders learning that they are not exempt from the rules. Movies cost a fucking fortune now - especially if you buy concession stand snacks. So I'm glad the people in charge are smart enough to realize that pissing off one rude family is better than pissing off a couple dozen viewers who have to listen to some brat's tablet cartoon during an R-rated film.
