Advocate for the industry to get better at finding ways for women to use or make their own gametes again rather than just accepting a stranger's DNA into your home and calling it yours.

I've said it before, and I'll no doubt say it again: if you can't love an adopted child as if it's your own, then you shouldn't have a biological one, either. If you can't accept that a child is a person outside of you and your precious DNA and expectations, then you aren't equipped to raise a functional, independent human being.

With all that money she wasted chasing a child she could push out of her own body in the pursuit of some bullshit connection, she could have adopted a child who was just as much not her biological offspring as this one and become a mother much sooner. That person is right - it's adoption with extra steps.

I agree. If someone can only love a child because it shares their DNA - or in this case, simply comes out of them - then they aren't in it for the right reasons. If someone wants a child that badly, then they should be thrilled to raise any child. But a child only mattering when it's biologically related to the parents is selfish, near-sighted horse shit.

Well then you should have thought about that shit before breeding at 51! She might live to see her kid reach her forties, but the odds of her living to her 90s are slim. Also, who is to say her daughter will think about motherhood? Maybe the girl will grow up to be childfree. Or will her mother live vicariously through her and pressure her into breeding?

My mother adopted me after her miscarriage, knowing that a healthy pregnancy is not possible for her. She reached out and adopted a special needs toadler.
