You can use gifs but it says they can't be bigger than 100 x 100. Maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for the suggestion---I checked and it actually is 100 X 100. I finally found out what I was doing wrong---forgot to "select" it after I chose it. Works now---thanks again! smiling smiley

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask---I'm a :newb --but is there a reason my icon doesn't show up? Do gifs show up as icons, or can't you use them as such? Thanks for any info, and again, sorry for asking that here...

Generally these questions go in the office, if you want somebody who knows the answer to see them. (I don't know the answer or I'd give it.)

Thanks for that suggestion---now at least if I have other questions like that I know where to go! Mr. T: I pitty tha foolhankyou
Hi there. Nice to see more people with the same opinion as me.

I've casually found this page the other day, and after reading for a couple of days many of the stories of its members I decided to join because I can sympathyse with many things said here.

I'm a 26 years old male from Mexico, which is a problem, since most of the population is catholic, you can say breeding is one of the most important national pastimes. It is not that hard to get bingoed or having to bear with other people's loaves.

In my case, I always hated childre, even when I was one of them, and over the years that helped me to make up my mind about not having any children. I already was going against a lot of traditions since I am an atheist; weirdly anough, it is easier for people to comprehend that some people don't believe in God than not wanting to have some cuntturd in their life.

I hope I can share my stories with you, since for most I know even not liing children it's like a big faux-pass.

I miss my little feather baby.
I'm new here. Mostly to join the Island. I am GF, but I'm a reasonable sort of person.

I live in CA with my hubs and two cats who think they're children.

Island requires a very significant number of posts to prove childfree status then requires approval of mods and admins.

A section of the board which is dedicated to mocking one of the most ridiculous mommy-bloggers out there, Gluten-Free Girl, who doesn't hesitate to remind her readers that she lives on an island. It used to be open but there were problems with that system so now it is by invitation only (long-time members can apply with the mods).
Yey! I have lurked so long (6 months), I needed to join. 37, single, female, bratfree Brit. Ten years worth of being bingoed under my belt. Feck 'em. Seriously.

Ha! I actually had to Google GNU. Not much of a techie. No - a play on smoking gun. Also - I smoke like a chimney. Keeps people with babies and small kids from coming near me. Usually thumbs upwink
Hey everyone new here. Just wanted to say Hi! smiling smiley I am female, from Australia ,childfree, almost 24 years old. little on the shy side too so bare with me while I find my way around this site.
Hi rose!
Hi everyone,

Long time lurker but a first time poster. (:

I'm a 20, female, atheist and three years into a degree in human genetics. I have three cats and they are my sweethearts. I live on a small, backwards island in Europe and I'm dying to get out of here. You can probably guess which one, it's the one that lets healthy women die instead of aborting miscarrying foetuses.

I know I'm young but I've been childfree since I realised kids were an option and even more so now that genetics has given me an insight into how selfish having children really is.

I do think I'll like it here, when it comes to bratty kids and breeders, I am just heartless. devil with smile

Oh, Malta? Or did you mean Ireland or Cyprus, which in theory allow it if the woman's life is in danger. Sadly, not giving a shit about women is pretty common around the world, and the EU has been extremely toothless on the subject of reproductive freedom.

If you want to get pissed off, read about the state of abortion in the EU and see just how restrictive most countries are. Take, for instance, Germany:

Quote

Availability: On request

Gestational limit: 12 weeks

Conditions: The woman must receive proper counselling three days before the procedure. The state-regulated counselling is required to inform the woman that the unborn have a right to life and to try to convince her to continue her pregnancy.

The procedure is not covered by public health insurance except for women with low income. The law includes penalties for people who force a pregnant woman to obtain an abortion or who induce a pregnant woman to have an abortion by maliciously withholding support payments.
Welcome to all the new people! :1welcome
