Ever wonder how successful Robert Irvine is on these things?

Paliani's discussed above has apparently closed. Owner kept bringing the kid to work.

yeah...that was probably the most disgusting.

there have been things Irvine says on the show that seem questionable, such as:

-cooking raw meat in a finished sauce. I know a lot of italian families that put raw sausage, meatballs and chicken into sauce to poach it and infuse flavor into the sauce. I think as long as everything is cooked thoroughly, you are good. (not to mention that you see people poach raw meat in sauce regularly in Diners, Drive ins and Douchebags)

-he criticized a guy for using a store bought spice mix (seasoned salt) as a meat rub, then promptly shows him a recipe for a rub that included at least three store bought spice mixes in it (curry powder, seafood seasoning and one I can't recall off the top of my head).

-complaining of all the things catching dust, then his designers creating dusting nightmares in the place (open and glued down milk bottles, a motorcycle under a counter, hanging gigantic ceiling fixtures, crazy looking lamps and in one, a gigantic three dimensional plywood wall decoration).

I don't have Food Network. Is this like "Kitchen Nightmares"? I love that show. A lot if not most of the restaurants still end up closing after Ramsay visits them, though.
