Just plain love?

Just plain love?
October 17, 2012
I started the just plain hate thread and then I realized that there are also things that people just plain like (even though it's weird). For example, I loooove bubble wrap and those little smooshy makeup sponges. They're so smooth and nice, I just want to shrink down and sleep on those little fuckers.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
So.. We know that food and water are running out, with overpopulation and all... Yet people keep on poppin' out those babies! I guess they want to have their baby and eat it too...

My top reason is that parenting gives you a free license to be selfish based purely on the fact that you're being selfish for an emanation of your own self. The illusion that what you do to benefit your children benefits them solely is a fallacy. Every parent benefits from the benefits that their children receive. Henceforth, it gives one a license to perpetuate a dog-eat-dog mentality that I perceive to be amoral. Parents say that their children are their greatest loves, what they forget to add is that they are their ONLY loves and only because their children are a reflection of themselves. I prefer to be able to love multiple people and have lasting relationships of many types and possess the essential core value of empathy for all than to restrict myself to an echo chamber of ego-masturbation and self-serving chicanery.

In short: Not parenting makes you a better person.

That makes me miss (somewhat) my time working in a warehouse environment. We used to collect a big effing pile of those, layer them, then run over them with a forklift. Piled about six-deep, it sounded like a gunshot.

Love?
My Japanese Chins.

Fall - the days are warm and dry, the nights crisp. Living near the mountains, we have the opportunity for prime leaf peeping.

The Blue Ridge Parkway - as the crows flies, we're about 50 miles away, but it takes about 90 minutes driving to get there. Being able to just toodle along at a max speed of 45mph, passing farmsteads and ascending into the clouds, plenty of turnouts to enjoy distant vistas. It was truly a worthwhile government project; too bad our money isn't spent on such endeavors now.

I Love:

Fall
Baking and the fact that I get to do it for a living
The smell of bread baking
The massager currently kneading my sore feet
A hot shower and a bed after a long day

"Why children take so long to grow? They eat and drink like pig and give nothing back. Must find way to accelerate process..."
- Dr. Yi Suchong, Bioshock

"Society does not need more children; but it does need more loved children. Quite literally, we cannot afford unloved children - but we pay heavily for them every day. There should not be the slightest communal concern when a woman elects to destroy the life of her thousandth-of-an-ounce embryo. But all society should rise up in alarm when it hears that a baby that is not wanted is about to be born."
- Garrett Hardin

"I feel like there's a message involved here somehow, but then I couldn't stop laughing at all the plotholes, like the part when North Korea has food."
- Youtube commentor referring to a North Korean cartoon.

"Reality is a bitch when it slowly crawls out of your vagina and shits in your lap."
- Reddit comment

"Bitch wants a baby, so we're gonna fuck now. #bareback"
- Cambion

Oh whatever. Abortion doctors are crimestoppers."

HOLY HELL!!! My computer froze after I typed all that. It's not the typing that 's the problem; it's the remembering. I had a couple of other things on the list, but I don't remember. So, for the last thing I love - it's whatever technical wizardry that allowed that to stay in the window after I rebooted my computer and everything. I love automagic things!

It's your hell; you rot in it!

My family

My dogs - there is NOTHING like coming home from work, and if they're outside, they come running as fast as they can when they see my truck, or if they're in, all four of them pile into the front window and start going nuts when I pull up. I forget about everything bad that happened when I see their happy little faces. I don't think anyone else is ever going to be that happy to see me.

My coworkers, the only reason I haven't quit my job or given some of these shitty customers the chewing out that they deserve.

My friend Ken :redface

Fall

Christmas (not the over-commercialization of it, but I do love it for what it is)

Cold weather

The beach

Jagermeister

Smirnoff Ice

Long drives out in the middle of nowhere

Universal Orlando

Candles

Glitter nail polish. I don't care if I'm 28, I love this shit.

Red lipstick

Lord of the Rings. Yes, Precious

Long naps/sleeping in

Lazy breakfasts

Road trips

I'm sure I'll add more later grinning smiley

I love my husband. He's just plain awesome.

SMELLS:
wet pavement after a cloudburst on a hot summer day
fresh sawdust
fallen leaves on a crisp, breezy autumn day
my kitties' paws when I find them sleeping and all warm
sauteed onions/garlic in olive oil
coffee beans
dried cut grass and hay

FEELS:
fingers massaging my scalp and moving my hair
the fabric called "peachskin". I want to have it against my face 24/7
various textures of fabric in general. I like to sew.
the shuddery pleasure of getting into a hot bath when I am cold. I always moan/ sigh. I can't contain it.
when I find a shed kitty whisker I like to touch it against my lips and chin. I am weird.
digging my hands into large quantities of small items such as beans, rice, small pebbles
acceleration

TASTES:
raspberries that are so sweet they are on the cusp of spoiling - now I am salivating
black coffee or a really good latte
cheese

SIGHTS:
photos of good looking people in general and artful black and white nudes
beauty in nature
-mist over a body of still water with the sun's rays shining though
- mountains
-snowfall (especially at night)
-oceans/ beaches that are pristinely devoid of people or evidence of human habitation
-the first green things growing in spring
-dense forest with wispy green things growing underneath. I call it a fairy forest
interracial couples, especially when it is a high contrast of color and both people are very attractive

SOUNDS:
squeaky snow
pouring rain
ocean waves/ moving water
kitty purring
piano music and emotive music in general
a woman I know who has the most musical speaking voice I have ever heard- it's lovely
a sportbike engine revving! oh god!

well this list got out of hand... I have never compiled a list like this before and I am seeing that I am an extremely sensory individual.

I have one of those mattress toppers and it feels like you are sleeping on a cloud, they are that comfy. The only problem is that they can be a bit pricey, but if you find a good one (ones made by Sleep Joy seem to get a lot of 5 star reviews on Amazon) it is well worth it.

Things I love:

Finding a $20 bill on the ground bouncing and laughing

The full moon

Hunting

Left 4 Dead, huzzah! :spin

This one might sound weird but: Rotting flesh, particularly that of skunk.

The dark

Halloween thumbs upwink

Places with very few people and lots of nature

The fall. Cooler nights, less bright sun and more overcast days. It's one of the more relaxing seasons.
